Kansas City Po-Po Garden Tribute Debuts

Considering that there are increased attacks on police nationwide, this local celebration of police and a collaborative metro effort is noteworthy. Championed by Council Lady Heather Hall. Here's a glimpse at an important local landmark in the making:

Groundbreaking Regional Law Enforcement Memorial Garden - June 27th

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Regional Law Enforcement Memorial Garden will take place Thursday, June 27 at 11:30 a.m. The garden will cover 5.8 acres and will feature an entry courtyard paved with stones that are engraved with memory statements and donor names; the Forest Room with a glass memory wall honoring the lives of officers fallen; and pathways into a meadow and wetland with benches and spaces for reflection and rest. The garden is designed to honor those in law enforcement in Clay, Platte, Jackson, and Cass counties, as well as federal, railroad, and conservation officers, for their daily sacrifices to serve and protect our communities.

The project is a collaboration between the Kansas City Police Officers Memorial Foundation and the cities it serves, and the families of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. For more information, visit https://kclemg.org/.

    1. ^^^ That would suck. But I guess it's a good warning. I'm sure they'll have surveillance and it's pretty far out for midtown taggers to target. Honestly, I feel like people realize that police have a tough job and it's their bosses and politicians who create a lot of the problems.
