Jackson County assessor's delays have ripple effect

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Jackson County Assessment Department is behind on parts of the reassessment process, which many fear may have a domino effect. A state-required report listing all properties that had assessed values go up by 50% was supposed to have been filed with the clerk of the county legislature clerk and the legislative auditor by May 31.

  2. This just boils down to Gail Beatty not doing her job as prescribed or required by law...this, from a former Missouri lawmaker. If this was anybody else doing their job at or below requirements, they'd be fired. There is no excuse for this. She should fired. Period.
