A big win for this town was met with rebuke from government workers and now confronts a legislative challenge. Checkit:
"The House voted 226-198 Tuesday to approve an amendment by D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton that would prohibit the USDA or General Services Administration from using federal money to move two divisions and several hundred employees to Kansas City. It's too soon to say whether the amendment stands any chance of making it through the Senate."

House Passes Norton Amendment Blocking Move of USDA Agencies to Kansas City
Attempts to move major agencies of the Department of Agriculture (USDA) out of the DC area were stymied Tuesday, as the House of Representatives passed an amendment by Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC).
SLie needs to get on the phone to the Cleave ASAP and let Cleave know this rejection by Congress puts a big dent in the momentum of vibrant, world class KCMO.
ReplyDelete^^Petersucker, this may be perceived as bad news for Kansas City, but it's good news for the country. This was a boneheaded decision to begin with.
ReplyDeleteTax money paid for the new site search. Tax money is being used as incentives for the move. Tax money will be used for the move. I suspect recouping these costs will happen sometime in 2050.
ReplyDeleteWhat did Emmanuel Cleaver and Sharice Davids do to stop the passage of this amendment blocking the move to KC? The answer is nothing. Absolutely nothing.
ReplyDeleteFuck You Funkhouser ya fucking asshole. Go mind your own GD business. Do you see us harassing people where you live you jackoff?
ReplyDelete@3:11 If you have a peter and want it sucked you should be employing the inbreeds in your neighborhood to do the job.

ReplyDeleteThe great majority of members of Congress, including the Democrats, don't even have any idea who Cleaver and Davis are.
Cleaver's nothing more than a political hack whose major efforts are finding some federal dollars to bring home and spread around to his friends and supporters.
Davis is an identity political clown who will likely be a one-termer and has nothing much to say other than to repeat her sexual orientation and the fact that she's part Native American.
The metro doesn't have any serious representation in Congress regardless of which party's in the majority.
In a democracy, you get exactly the government you deserve.
Kansas lost out, too bad for them, no way they'd move to killa shitty with all the piss poor schools and high taxes
ReplyDeleteThe message from Democrats was loud and clear. Power needs to be centralized and under control of the federal government in DC. 90% of DC voted for Hillary. No diversity of thought or representation among our federal agencies. Whatever political goals Democrats want to leverage through USDA might be lost if it were moved.
ReplyDeleteHeaven forbid federal government employees be subject to similar conditions as us every-day working Americans whose jobs *gasp* might be moved to another state or *double gasp* to another country. Imagine having to be among Trump voters! No way would they want to move.
No better illustration of the problem in DC was the number of cranes on the DC skyline during the 2008/2009 financial crisis. Nearly every other city in the US was in turmoil while the luxury building projects in DC BOOMED!
Now it’s up to Hawley, blunt, Roberts and, uh, that other senator from KS sorry drawing a blank, to bring this bacon home.
ReplyDeleteKansas City dries up and blows away without the federal govt backstopping our economy it has always been that way ever since we were a frontier town where tribes spent their federal allowances on manufactured goods from traders.
Yes cleaver and Sharice clearly have little clout to stop what passed the House. Not too critical of Sharice bc she’s just a freshman, but dang is there anyone more invisible, more useless, less influential than that empty-moustache Emanuel cleaver II???

Ra-douche,
DeleteAOC is a freshman and she stupid, but at least she is trying to accomplish things and does have some influence in Congress. Why give Sharice a pass, just because she is a freshman?
Why do we want them here?

ReplyDeleteDemocrat coastal elites hate the people in what Democrats call "Flyover Country"
Byron, are there not issues needing your wonderful commentary where you live? Don't those locals wish to listen to your opinions? Why do you feel the need to comment on KC doings? Oh, I see, they won't pay any attention to you.

ReplyDeleteThey can't do that!
