Racial Tensions Continue To Roil Lee's Summit School Board

The Lee's Summit school board remains deeply divided over issues of race and equity, a week after voting down a plan to bring in consultants for diversity training. At a tense work session Wednesday night, newly elected board member Mike Allen accused the district's first black superintendent, Dennis Carpenter, of only caring about black students.

  1. What in the hell is diversity training? There's no such thing it sounds like black people are at it again with some sort of my way or highway thing. Walk on egg shells or else. Get these people out of Lee's Summit NOW!

  2. Equality of opportunity = good

    Equality of outcome = impossible

  3. The Board should just tell this superintendent to do the job he's paid to do, and if he won't, consider it a breach of contract and fire him.

What assemblage of idiots hired this race obsessed dingbat?

  4. Does anyone believe a black democrat will ever look out for the well being of all constituents? Cleaver only cares about blacks. Obama. Kiki. Alonzo. Clay in StL. Auntie Maxine. All the same.

Black republicans are the only black people that care about you no matter your race.

  5. Once again, a diversity hire with only one issue on his tiny racist mind. Guess what it is.

  6. When he is so far out that the teacher's union wants him gone that says it all.

  7. Those stupid fuckers hired him, they have to live with it or get rid of him. I would guess those won’t be hiring another negro to replace him. Lees Summit people are just stupid.

  8. This is so easy to see where this is headed. He is positioning himself for a lawsuit. He's going to make it so contentious he gets himself fired so he can file a racial discrimination lawsuit. Lee's Summit will then settle for millions out of court. Get ready taxpayers over there, you're going to pony up in a couple of years. Then they'll never hire a black person again.

  9. Board sets policy, not the Superintendent. If he doesn’t like it, resign. This guy is a bonehead.

  10. That's why two previous board members that hired him are gone and two more will be gone when their terms are up.

  11. Remember the 50s-when black folks were underclassed but employed and on their way up. Remember that even the Jim Crow racism of the era didn't destroy their happiness and sense of community. Then the 60s. They became the cause celebre of ever left wing yippie and weatherman. And all of that rhetoric taught them the politics of dissension and class struggle. The "free love" of the 60s and its drug and communist ethos destroyed their upward mobility and their families were destroyed by the new belief that no father need be around, especially if taxpayer dollars can cover the cost of the food, shelter, and eventual dealing with the disasters that follow. By the way, whatever happened to the coming threat of "crack babies"? Looking around, does it seem as though they are here, but the public health authorities realized they had a huge PR nightmare on their hands by acknowledging the fulfillment of their prophecy. Most of us are not really what they try to call us. But we are not fools. When we try to point out the folly of those who have SET THEMSELVES APART FROM US-when we call them out for the error of their ways, and their special treatment that demands ignorance of their CHARACTER- we are called racists. Let them select a leader other than Obama or Lil Bow Wow who will not tickle their ears with the crap that ensures things will only get worse. Folks in LS- I told you 15 yrs ago it was coming your way, to sell and get the hell out. How hateful is that ? To decide, that, instead of digging in and fighting for the good life of all, we instead choose to lose a life investment and opt for peace among those not so bent on wickedness. If we had fought and won-we would have lost, so we could only do what every peace loving father has done for the last 50 yrs- move the family out of Sodom.
