Perfect Village Methodist Drama Price Check

As United Methodists edge toward breakup over LGBT policies faithful local churchgoers confront practical concerns. Here's the latest:

Local Methodist congregations talk what it would cost to leave the denomination

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS (KCTV) -- Asbury United Methodist in Prairie Village is what's called a reconciling congregation, welcoming the LGBTQ+ community, which doesn't reconcile well with the international conference vote in late February. "We had hoped it would be a vote to include all people," said Rev.

  1. That’s fine. I’m leaving the Methodist church anyway. I just don’t feel like grandstanding about having trannys be pastors, or think it’s good for them to be reading books to little kids. Have people forgotten about the rampant homosexual child abuse against little boys in the Catholic Church that went PROTECTED for a generation? Thousands and thousands of gay child molesters who were untouchable (No pun intended) and the Methodist churches in kc are upset because they don’t get in on that?

  8. I want to see what happens when the COR pastor stands up and asks the people for another 15 million dollars. I think I'd vote with my feet walking out the door. As for the Fairy Village ASSbury Methodist church they should just give the building to the gays and start a new church without gays, but this is what having gay and lesbians as your pastors will do to your religion. St Ann's isn't wrong, it is correct to stand for something you believe in and has been right for eon's. Right does not change, wrong does not change.

  14. I used to go to the united Methodist church of the resurrection downtown. Lot of good people there and the pastor (Scott) is a great and supportive pastor. There are gays that go there and I knew some. I could have cared less and they loved God. I did meet a lot of liberals there which is fine too. The millennial aged and younger seem to kind of look down on the Leawood campus because they aren’t as a progressive crowd.

My problem is their problem with not approving gay and transsexual clergy. Was it the prairie village Methodist church that flies the rainbow flag? Just sick of this being shoved down everyone’s throats. Pastor Adam in Leawood did a sermon on gun control a while back and I was like why are we talking about this in church? A lot of people left the church when they announced the $70 million new sanctuary. Yes it was privately funded, but many felt that was a lot of money for space they didn’t need and could have used towards something else. Pastor Hamilton is a good speaker, but what will be of the church when he retires?

  15. Can’t the faggots just join the Presbyterian church? They supposedly let faggots in, no matter how much dick they suck.

  16. 12:54, the COR PASTOR seems to be on a power trip...he wants to take over the denomination and make it LGBT REQUIRED for leadership...which is super ironic because he had the Clinger/Pullin scandal where two pastors got caught having sex. Now, they were married of course...but not to each other! LOL!

  17. The COR pastor dissess the bible routinely. Its become clear than he wants to take of the whole denomination.

It will cement he place in history.
