Not Even One Full Year After Granny Guv Kelly Wins And Kansas Is Broke?!?!

Worthwhile economic data from our 2nd favorite Kansas bloggers on the topic of economic harsh times following modest gains by the Democratic Party in November of 2018. The numbers are worthwhile even if the premise from a blog backed by Kansas billionaires is somewhat sketchy. Take a look:

Kansas personal income growth among lowest in nation - The Sentinel

Kansas personal income grew just 3.2% in 2018 while the nation as a whole grew 4.5% according to estimates from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. It was one of the lowest growth rates in the country, ranking 46 th and with only four states doing worse.

  4. Well, no shit. But the state, counties and city are crowing about how the increase in property values is filling up their coffers.

Its pretty simple. Higher taxes = less money to spend. The tax payer suffers.

Higher taxes drive businesses and residents to lower tax states.

  6. Governor Kelly is too old and stupid to effectively govern. She has good intentions but lame results. She is in way over her head.

  8. The problem is not Gov Kelly. The problem is the Kansas Democratic Party is mainly a bunch of worthless homosexuals (Lawrence) or worthless, uneducated minorities (Wichita, KCK).

  10. 9:37 - where in this article does it refer to taxes impacting this personal income growth? Outside of the fact that sales tax revenue is down due to the lower personal income growth (ie, people not spending as much), it doesn't even mention tax rates. Did you even bother to read the article? Your comment makes me think no.

Key take away is that growth is happening elsewhere, not in Kansas. And I imagine if you look at different states growth and tax rates, there's probably not a ton of correlation. For one state with low taxes and high growth, there's probably another with low taxes and high growth. For a state with high taxes and low growth, there's probably a state with high taxes and high growth.

  12. Stop calling her Granny Governor. I know it's in keeping with the sexism and ageism of the blog, but if you're going to call her "Granny," call Mike Parson and every male "grandpa.
