  6. One can only hope the parents are both in jail shortly. Parents who allow a child to get ahold of a gun they own and die or kill another with said gun should at minimum face involuntary manslaughter charges and since it involved a child a hard 25 years jail sentence without parole, unable to to bond out before trial and upon completion of conviction loss of all civil rights ever. Then and only them will we maybe see a decrease in children involved shootings.

  8. I used to live right next door to these residents. I left in 2014 and moved to Johnson County to get away from the area's rampant crime. We were broken into several times, neighbors stole anything not nailed down, right down our street, the Hispanic guy shot his 19 year old, tied up, girlfriend - dead in front of her baby (guy was convicted 2 weeks ago-it was in the news and posted on Tony's KC 2 weeks ago), a dangerous female gang member arrested for multiple murders had shot a man to death at the gas station at the end of our street at Bannister Rd intersection, the crazed drug fueled dude shot dead a visiting Asian missionary, he was visiting the IHOP ministries last year with a shotgun-just walked up and killed him -500 feet from us, in 2015 a guy stole the maintenance man's pickup truck and police chased him all over the area till he wrecked it-and there have been many other crimes since I left in 2014 that I don't know about. The issue is that those units in Calico Farms have big sliding glass doors in the back bedrooms, making it easy for someone to pry open and come in to rob you. I kept a 12 gauge combat shotgun in my place. No child to worry about. But it was loaded and ready to go. There will be many more murders in that neighborhood and people should be very afraid to live there. bannister road brings the bad people right to your front doorstep. I feel so sorry for the family.

  11. If you lived in that neighborhood - you would own a gun too. Otherwise your family is a sitting duck for murderers. They should have had a gun lock on it. But trust me - you need a gun if you live there.
