KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SAFETY EXPOSED: OLD & BUSTED KCFD AMBULANCE BARELY HELD TOGETHER BY DUCT TAPE!!!

To start this morning KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS show us KCMO public safety REAL LIFE as we continue to debate budget issues during election silly season.

First word, as always, belongs to AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS:

"Apparently KCFD makes ambulance repairs with tape. I saw this KCFD ambulance at the QT on Main by the Plaza yesterday and the turn signal light lens was held on by tape! WTF I hope the rest of the life saving equipment onboard isn’t as deplorable!! We all know the response times and cardiac arrest saves are being doctored. The books are cooked! What a mess!!"

A closer look:

The note is correct, response times are a longstanding issue along with criticism of pension funding and public safety's prominence in the KCMO budget overall. Nevertheless, funding KCFD & KCPD to protect residents should be City Hall's top priority and this quick look at seemingly faulty equipment reveals that the exorbitant amount of taxpayer cash devoted to this institution is having trouble making it to local streets.

And so we ask readers:

HOW SHOULD VOTERS FEEL ABOUT KCFD AMBULANCES SECURED BY DUCT TAPE?!?!

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. Take a close look at the KC garbage trucks. They're all 20 years old. The money just goes back into the system to pay for b.s. like the hotel and other developer funds.

    1. Maybe not inspiring in terms of public funding the I'm glad KCFD is using their ingenuity in spite of proper vehicle maintenance.

    2. Ambulances are always getting the short straw when it comes to maintenance. KCFD can sit around and spit shine fire trucks all day but nobody really cares about the vehicles that answer more calls and are worked hard around the clock.

  2. TKC, did you know that most people don't even use ambulances even more. When sick a lot of people just call an uber to take them to the emergency room if it's not a dire emergency.

  5. Need to start selling assault rifles out behind the station again.

  6. The fire dept. absorbed mast to steal their money, it really is as simple as that.

  7. Our meat wagons should be a lot nicer. I would be pissed if I was on the KCFD. Mad enough to hose down some homeless people and then lie about it.

  8. Take it out of their outrageous pension plan

  9. But yet they spend money to pay the King family every year for using their name on a street change and spend money making news signs for that street in the name of black power.... sick.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Remember we passed a public safety tax on top of the KC earnings tax so obviously the money isn't being spent as intended.

  11. cant trust city hall in doing the right thing

  12. If the duct tape does what you want it to do, use the duct tape. Why spend lots of money on a new part just because it looks better.

  13. I think it’s just a reflection of the city itself.

  14. Well, look at the haters' posts who are trashing the personnel at the front lines of Killa Shitty FD. Some of that mountain of taxpayers' money tossed around to the entertainment districts, the touristy toy trains, artsy events, and MORE, should be going to replace some ambulances and to provide proper maintenance of same.

Now, how about haters have their pieholes duct taped shut, or those keyboard bitches need their fingers duct taped to their butt cheeks!

Ooooh, but the Killa Shithole ambulance chasers have the latest in luxury rides to go with their JoCo custom built abodes!

Give these ambulance employees some credit for being resourceful after realizing no one at City Hall even gives a shit if the engine blows up and they have to walk.

  18. That’s nothing compared to what low level city employees drive around in, 15yr old broken busted up cars, sLIE, Troy and city clowncil have been promising them new vehicles for five years now and guess what? Every budget for the last five hrs comes out for new vehicles and when the budget passes they pull that money for “special projects”

Every dept gets big chunks of money taken from them every year. No wonder nothing gets done around here.

  19. 11:49 Every department with the exception of the Fire Dept, How many new stations did they get built, how many fire trucks have Duct tape holding a peice of the vehicle together? (outside of the raped ambulance service they stole quality care for the citizens from), I bet you wont find one, but what you will find is the fire department is the most costly department in city goverment factoring in what is spent VS what you get for each dollar spent, which is a few fires put out a year, a few lives saved every year. If I lived in KC I would DEMAND a non biased independent audit into where the money goes, how its spent, and how money could be saved.

  21. FD better be saddled up and ready to ride, than risking increased property losses, injuries, and deaths! !5/14/19, 8:29 AM

Hey now, 10:31, the operations expenditures of KCFD per annum should not be considered only in relation to the volume of the total calls for service. PUBLIC SAFETY SERVICES LIKE AN INSURANCE POLICY AND MILITARY PREPAREDNESS. There's no way to predict when and where major disasters will occur, or the frequencies there of. And, the same goes for minor tragedies. So, like insurance, "coverages" by emergency response is better if adequate, and best if superior. It ain't cheap, nor FREE!

You can't be serious with that remark that a "few" fires are put out every year, and a "few" lives are saved every year, AND THAT
THOSE "FEW" FIRES EXTINGUISHED AND "FEW" LIVES SAVED WOULD BE FACTORS TO WHETHER THE CITY GOVERNMENT IS GETTING ITS MONEY'S WORTH. So, what's the value of local school children's and the staffs' lives if a mass shooting happens? How much are the lives of daily commuters worth if a major pile-up with fiery crashes occurs? Can you put a money value on employees' and residents' lives if a major Haz Mat contamination is able to spread beyond the source site?

  22. 8:29 - I was very serious about that remark, I see more FF's cruising for pussy on the plaza and Westport on a Friday /Saturday night on the tax payers dime than I ever do seeing them fight a fucking fire. Its a service of "just in case" and we pay out the ass for that just in case service!! So ya I was serious!!! The cost is more like a insurance policy and its a damn expensive one! Be cheaper to have volunteers they actually would do a better job because they would have no motive to take advantage of the citizens and would do the job because it was their passion not their paycheck.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I say "privatize" Fire and EMS services in this city, with that model they would work hard to keep their contract, it would be more benificial to the citizens and would allow the city government to buy more toy trains and high doller hotels and apartments downtown. When something makes sense for the public, the entities who work hard to destroy the theory of fucking over the voters, spend money to debunk the lies with lying propaganda - aka the Fire Dept and the fire union, and prove their lies with ambulances held together with duct tape!
