KANSAS CITY LGBT LEADERS DENOUNCE RIGHT-WING 'HATE RALLY' AT UMKC AND LAUNCH COMPLAINTS AGAINST POLICE!!!

The debate over presentation at the city college and the ensuing lavender oil spritzing assault persists.

A few new developments . . .

UMKC LGBT LEADERS CLAIM THE CONFRONTATION BETWIXT PROTESTERS AND POLICE WAS A TERROR ATTACK!!

A recent statement from one of their leaders . . .

"Thursday, April 11 2019, was a terror attack by the far-right against the transgender community. A local hate group invited a propagandist to the University of Missouri - Kansas City, inciting violence against trans people. Instead of protecting those most at risk, the UMKC admin, UMKC-PD and KCPD went after the transgender students who were speaking up in defense of their humanity. Many were pepper sprayed, kicked and punched by the police."

Meanwhile, groups dedicated to ending violence against the local LGBT community have now started fundraising:

"The Kansas City Anti-Violence Project was shocked and saddened to learn of the assault and arrest of a peaceful protester at a school-sponsored hate rally at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Thursday night, April 11, 2019. According to witness accounts, all protesters outside and within the auditorium where the hate speech was held were behaving disruptively, though peacefully and non-violently. One protester, a trans woman of color who uses she/ her pronouns, was seen to be carrying a brightly colored water gun, and was tackled by law enforcement officers. In a video released to the press, the protester is seen on the ground beneath two uniformed officers. Though she in no way act aggressive towards the officers and continues to be under their control, the officers acted excessively in subduing the protester. It is impossible to deny the additional fear and trauma that was deliberately inflicted when one officer uses a taser and appears to place it at the base of the protester’s skull before the other officer uses his leg to put his full body weight on her neck. In this case, we see another instance in which those who are targeted by hate are further victimized by systems which profess to value and protect all in its care . . . "

It's important to note the KCPD response to these claims:

First, KCPD notes the University Police were responsible for the take down of the protester with the squirt gun that has a lot of activists angry:

"University police were involved in this enforcement activity, not us."

Further clarification about KCPD involvement:

"The officers depicted in the original YouTube video of the initial detainment were university police officers, there are KC MO police in this photo yes, they were called to the scene at the request of UMKC Police to ensure safety and crowd control"

Finally, a note about how locals can address their concerns:

"If anyone involved in these events that night feels the KCMO PD acted wrongly or our of policy we welcome that feedback through our office of community complaints."

  1. That's a bit of a blame shift. It all could have been solved by letting the guy give his dumb-ass talk and not assaulting him.

    1. Honestly, if they feel like they were being attacked they should file a complaint like the police suggest. There's no use going all over the Internet with it, a complaint would start a review of the action that is more official and has more impact than the court of public opinion.

Next to no discipline, spoiled in retaliation to the other " parent", growing up as special. Self centered screen nursed overweight babies with no respect for anyone other than themselves. Pierce it, draw pictures on it, change its sex, we can do as we please. A truly loss generation is slowly taking this once great country straight down the crack pipe of foolishness

So, based on the above comments, am I supposed to believe that the police have no prejudice against these people either (11:45), & that their actions were above reproach? Who was it who attacked the gay men at the Stonewall?

The school should not have allowed this event to take place, because, in truth, there are not good people on both sides. Someone who preaches hatred does not care about the First Amendment, but is willing to use it to keep from being shouted down, & further his mission of non-acceptance.

Yes, they will fight back. That is how they have already come so far.

  20. KCPD is extremely homophobic and violently oppresses the LGBTQIA community in numerous ways. It is disgusting and they are a disgrace when it comes to protecting people at risk and victims of violent hate crimes. KCPD must be held accountable for their unnecessarily violent and irrational behavior towards innocent people.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The amount of hatefulness and homophobia in this thread is very telling of the violent climate which Kansas City gays are forced to deal with. It’s no wonder the LGBT community feels the need to protest since there are so many ignorant bigots, many of which employed by the KCPD.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The Office of Community Complaints is corrupt and also homophobic. They do not care about hate crimes or discriminatory behavior against the LGBT community. Filing complaints does not accomplish anything. The KCPD is corrupt and systemically oppressing the gay community by stonewalling and gaslighting anyone who speaks up about their homophobia and discrimination. It is unethical and immoral, yet the police don’t seem to care at all and refuse to change their highly inappropriate behavior. This is a serious problem which needs to be nationally addressed. This is a hate crime and a terror attack on the gay community. The homophobic comments here are degrading and minimizing an issue that puts LGBT people and youth at risk. Police should be helping the gay community instead of hurting us. KCPD is a shameful disgrace, and the way they are handling this is immature, unprofessional, and unacceptable!

  23. The two above mentioned posters are truly homosexually abounds tyrannies !!!!

  24. The trans-phobic speaker should not have been allowed to make a hate speech against any individuals at UMKC. Kansas City is much more diverse, inclusive, and progressive than that. Gay people have historically been attacked by the police for simply asking for acceptance and equality. The KCPD must take accountability for their violent behavior and realize that the LGBT Community needs their help, not additional hate and oppression. How is there still so much bigotry and ignorance even after 50 people were killed at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando only years ago? Instead of showing support for those who are being attacked and bullied, the KCPD’s violent behavior is counterproductive, oppressive, traumatizing, and terrorizing to the gay community. This is why gay youth are scared, depressed, and committing suicide—they are being shunned by their own community and the police are enforcing and condoning hatred and violence against us. KCPD is not helping this crisis whatsoever, in fact they are only making it worse. Extremely shameful and saddening. “Love thy neighbor”..........

    ReplyDelete
  25. Severe misconduct. Why is KCPD so violent towards peaceful protestors? This is violating the people’s Freedom of Speech, the First Amendment of the Consitution. KCPD also marched horses into people and tear gassed the peaceful, organized protestors of the racist/homophobic/transphobic/divisive Orange Moron before he started putting children in cages/etc. It is wrong, inhumane, and unAmerican. KCPD should be very ashamed and needs to get their act together. Trans Rights are Human Rights. When have any LGBTQIA people attacked or tried to convert straights? Never. Jesus never condemned homosexuality. KC Christian Extremists are so hypocritical, even after their church was exposed to be a pedophile ring. Is KCPD part of the Westboro Baptist Church? Grow up and Let Trans People live their lives without hate and bigotry.

  26. Trans Rights Are Human Rights!

  27. Gay/trans/LGBTQIA everyone deserves to have a happy life and love who they want to love. You can’t help who you’re attracted to or who you want to be. Trans people aren’t hurting anybody! The violence of KCPD against people who are already feeling attacked is just plain atrocious and unethical. For KCPD to be so physically hurtful to a trans woman standing up for her rights is a hate crime. They are trying to send a message of hate to the LGBTQ community by instilling fear and violence. It is a very specific attack on the Trans community, and the police obviously are trying to enforce their close-minded bigotry onto our community by condoning the speaker’s transphobic hate speech and bigotry. The world has already moved forward on this issue, and KCPD is stuck in the Stone Age unfortunately. Kansas City is and must be better than this! We have giant rainbows in our skyline for Christsakes. LGBTQIA Pride, Resilience, and Strength above and over idiotic and ignorant hate. Good will prevail. Stay strong my trans friends, you are loved!

My cousin is trans, and I have many trans friends across the country. It breaks my heart to think a police officer would treat them so violently for simply standing up for their right to exist and have equal rights! Of course we are angry, and that is not a crime. SHAME ON YOU, KCPD!!!!

  32. If the protesters let the guy give his speech, nothing happens.

What is REALLY going on here, is a gargantuan, Death Star Tractor Beam of need and insecurity trying to suck in as much collective attention as it can for the LGBTFRSETRANS (whatever) community that thinks it just isn't getting enough attention.

LOOK AT ME!!! I AM KOOL!! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!! I AM ON INSTAGRAM AND NO ONE EVER SEE'S ME!!! FOLLOW ME!!! I AM WORTHY OF ATTENTION!!! I AM SO REVOLUTIONARY!!!

Sometimes I wonder if these folks one day will "woke" up in their 30's, after they get all of the semen pumped out of their stomach's, change their names, get married have kids and pretend it all didn't happen.

You know how kids these days, all of a sudden want a tattoo? That will be one really BIG problem with some of them--"OH SHIT I CUT MY DICK OFF!!????!!!!?????!!!????

By then, maybe, like chicks can get "Bolt Ons" for their boobs, the dudes that were dudes and are now strident, militant GWUTHDWWA (Guys who used to have dicks that want attention) will be able to medically get bolt ons just like chicks, who, of course, only get them for feminist reasons, NOT TO ATTRACT THOSE FILTHY MEN.

Hey, maybe by then, you can wake up every day, laser beam on a cock, or, bolt on some boobs and "axe wound" your groin, depending on-and this would mean that we had reached a Capitalism Singularity because of the great Trump Economy (Suck on that.), and you determined your gender on a day to day basis, based ONLY on your wardrobe and what you had to wear that day.

"Godamn those jeans are tight, I have put on a few LB's - I think I will whack off my dick from yesterday, get the spandex out of the dirty clothes and show up to work looking like Gene fuckin Simmons in drag and GG Allin fucked each other in a swimming pool full of blow all night.

Good times are coming people, all because these intrepid, SJW, LGBTFGDTSREA (again-whatever) folks are breaking new ground for we rustic rubes.

    Hahahahaha! No country wants them!

    ReplyDelete
  34. People are wising up about the Trans agenda. It is nothing more than sexual fetishism that has been encouraged by a corrupt medical community.

It is disturbing that the "Trans" community seems so interested in the early sexualization of children. I don't really know if that would be the hill to die on if I was an Alphabet Soup Gay Rights Org

    ReplyDelete
  35. The fact that Transsexualism has been elevated and attached itself like a barnacle to the Gay and Lesbian rights movement is disturbing. It's a fetish and insulting to women that a man can claim he's a woman simply by getting a falsie put in. It's insulting to women that they compete against and dominate women's sports.

I don't often say this in life but radical feminists aka RadFems are 100% right on this issue.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Lets get somethings straight here. First it was not KCPD that responded first to the disturbance, it was UMKC police that did that. So quit dissing on KCPD. Also lets remember if one group wants freedom of speech that means everyone gets it. So there is plenty of blame to go around here. No one has the right to spray anything on anybody, including those perfume sprayers at the big stores in the mall.
My beef in this matter is that the LGBT community has the same rights as I do. I don't like it but they do. Where the line is crossed is in a conversation with any LGBTQer they make it part of the conversation that they are gay. I don't say "I am hetro" so why do they think that I am interested in knowing that they are gay, I can probably tell. The "community" needs to dial it down a lot and stop advertising their queerness.
As for the Trans, I went to a party once and was quite taken by a beautiful "woman" from a distance. She didn't make a scene and was accepted well by the others, then I saw the adams apple, I was shocked but not offended. They can move about in society well if they aren't trying to have a stage show.
We can get along but the LGBT community is out of control and that isn't going to win them any friends long term.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I was out of town once and our group went to a bar that had dancing. I asked a woman at the bar to dance and she said "I am a lesbian". I responded "What do you mean?" She told me "I like women". So I said "Then I am a lesbian too because I love women, now lets dance." And we did for several songs and we had a lot of fun.

  41. The gays response is what pushes normal people to voting Trump

    ReplyDelete
  42. Someone standing at a podium saying something you disagree with isn't "violence" nor "hate speech"

Throwing a noxious liquid on that speaker you disagree with, however,is not speech at all, and has no place in a free society, let alone a university where ideals of free speech and Truth-seeking supposedly exist.

  43. There’s a lot of marginalization happening to LGBT people in Kansas City (within KCPD and beyond). It’s ignorant to minimize their efforts to stand up for themselves and call their activism “drama,” especially when trans people of color at one of the most vulnerable groups at risk of being killed or victims of violent hate speech and crimes. It’s obvious a lot of KC people are just really uncultured, heteronormative, and basic—they get their panties in a bunch when people who are different from themselves live on the same planet. Clearly some very ignorant bigots on this page hiding behind their computers, feeling very threatened by how beautiful and strong the LGBT movement is. Trump failed them all and his fans look pretty dumb now. Aren’t there bigger, more important issues to be discussing on a college campus than condemning trans individuals? Pete Buttigieg 2020

  45. KCPD evidently didn’t make any effort to de-escalate the situation and allowed a woman to be tased and physically assaulted by an officer (campus security or not, they are part of the same organization). It is the police who were violent in this situation (unnecessarily) and let their short tempers and bigotry invoke physical assault onto someone standing up for their rights when someone was making a hateful speech. That’s called “systemic violence.” Police complacency in these situations is a big part of the problem, they should have stopped the violent officers from hurting anyone. A squirt gun filled with lavender oil is actually quite a poignant statement considering it’s the police and terrorists who are using real bullets to kill innocent people for no reason other than hate. LGBT people are part of Kansas City, and we must be a more accepting community. Will KCPD be tasing, assaulting, and arresting people at Kansas City Gay Pride too?
