Man found dead after Northland house fire identified
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- The man found dead after a fire in the Northland has been identified. Officers discovered the body of 35-year-old Matthew Calkins at a home on North Poe last Saturday. Police have not said how he died. They originally went to the house on a report of shots fired.

'We don't have answers': Friends mourn Buddies owner killed in unexplained explosion
Dozens of friends of Melvin "Lee" Mecker, owner of Buddies gay bar on Main Street in Kansas City, gathered Saturday at Side Street Bar & Grill to celebrate his life. Friends say Mecker died in an April 10 explosion and house fire, but police have not identified the body.
