KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Police have arrested at least two people after a chase in Kansas City on Tuesday afternoon. The chase started at Truman and Woodland around 2:10 p.m. and then ended at Linwood and Troost around 2:20 p.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person was arrested after allegedly stealing a work truck in Westport last week, injuring a construction worker in the process, according to court records. Luke Bacon, 26, was charged with felony stealing, second-degree assault and tampering with a motor vehicle in connection with the April 30 incident.

SMITHVILLE, Mo. - Doug Lowe says his son, a mushroom hunter, had an unexpected encounter with a park ranger at Smithville Lake last week. Lowe said a Clay County park ranger stopped his son to ask if he had any mushrooms. When he told the ranger he did not have any yet, the ranger told him, '"Well, if you do you're going to have to pour it out or you could be arrested,'" Doug Lowe said.

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) - A suspect has surrendered after a standoff that lasted hours Tuesday morning. Officers were dispatched to a local hospital on the report of a gunshot wound. After talking with the victim, officers were able to determine that the shooting took place inside a home in the 100 block of northwest Chipman.

A new report from Safe Wise ranks Kansas City as the fifth most dangerous big city in the country.According to its methodology, Safe Wise said Kansas City is the country's fifth most dangerous big city behind St. Louis, Detroit, Baltimore and Memphis. Milwaukee, Cleveland, Albuquerque, Indianapolis and Oakland round out the top 10.

    Safe Wise said Kansas City is the country's fifth most dangerous big city behind St. Louis, Detroit, Baltimore and Memphis.


    We went from about #10 to #5 under Jolie Justus's direction as our crime task force Kahuna.
