INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - It's been three days since city leaders in Independence voted to place a use tax on the August ballot. Proposition P, if approved by voters, would provide funding for the Jackson County Regional Animal Shelter and to hire additional police officers.

  5. the reality....hey, I like puppies and kittiies, but the reality, way too many PEOPLE in the world, and there sure are way too many dogs and kats....I don't hear much about spay and neuter, just adopt... so the puppy/kitty mill folks "turn up the volume" and you huckelberrys jump on the band wagon...get serious about the problem....
