Inside Kansas City Museum Renaissance

A worthwhile glimpse at Kansas City restoring a local treasure after Union Station has mostly looted funds to fix this storied location. Take a look:

Meet The People Updating The 109-Year-Old Kansas City Museum For A 21st Century Future

For generations of school kids who rode buses to the Kansas City Museum, the most memorable part of the field trip, at least up until the early 1980s, might have been the full-sized igloo - you could climb in and out of it.

  1. The Museum used to have some interesting displays.
It's a shame the entire artifacts collection has "mysteriously evaporated".

  3. Don't waste money on it! We need more for the "jazz district".

  4. I’ve never seen one African American construction worker at any of the many public funded projects all over town that use J.E. Dunn as the G.C. Just sayin... then again if our black mayor and several black councilmen don’t notice/care then why should I ?

I have this nagging fear that once re opened Corinthian hall will be less about learning and local history and archives and erudition, and more about a swanky place for events ... hope I’m wrong. They have already been hosting some events there. Saw a lot of Johnson county plates parked all along wabash etc a couple of times already.

    Thanks,
    Radish

    1. Ra-douche,
You can’t find African-American construction workers when the job needs to be done with skill and precision.

  7. ^^^^^When you were young, did you always want to be a loser when you grew up? Saturday afternoon and you’re all alone. Complaining about a city you’re either too broke or too stupid to move from.
