DISGRACE!!! BIKE/WALK KC DESTROYED ARMOUR BLVD AND NOW CITY HALL & TAXPAYERS FORCED TO FIX!!!

Until very recently, Armour Blvd. was one of the most beautiful and scenic stretches of roads along the Midtown corridor. Traffic flowed easily and pedestrians were treated to an ionic view along their journey. Sadly, cycling advocates attempted to "improve it" and then created a public safety nightmare.

Their designs put drivers and everyone else at risk and now prove to the the "Waterloo" for the local cycling movement given that residents realize these many of these local activists are really just subsidizing jobs for their friends, consulting gigs for their friends and unworkable plans. Whilst they might have good intentions, the result of their designs have been horrific.

Take a look:

KCMO plans program to increase visibility on Armour Blvd.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Missouri, is reworking a dangerous area due to blind spots on the roadway. Robert Ingraham told 41 Action News that his daughter's SUV might have saved her life after she was hit at Armour Boulevard and Central Street Saturday afternoon.

  2. I could give a dozen reasons why the armour design is stupid and dangerous but that's tedious. For those of us who get around town on a bike - not spandex faggots from Johnson county who park their hybrid at 31st & gilham then Bike around three abreast -- those lanes have made armour a no go zone. Hope to God the planning geniuses leave gladstone Blvd, paseo, 36th St, etc. alone.

We never asked for these separate lanes. Lastly Please drive safely and don't rage out on some guy riding around bc it might be me.

    Thanks,

  3. Another idea from yet another gimlet-eyed special interest group that the KCMO electeds are too stupid and cowardly to say NO to.
There are millions thrown away every year "implementing" screwball proposals like this.
    THE streetcar is Exhibit A.
    What a clown show!
And the rest of the metro just laughs.

  4. Radish if you get yelled at while riding your bike it typically means your doing something stupid like riding way too damn slow and holding up real traffic, keep your slow ass joy ride on the sidewalk

  5. This is Jolie's baby. I hate to say anything negative about her because the other option would be far worse.
Regardless, the bike friendly roads in KC are a disaster. I will say this. While Jolie is far from being great, the opponent would be a disaster for KC.

  6. Armour Boulevard could be made safe again for all traffic with the installation of a stop sign at every corner.

  7. you need one reason why the armour design is stupid and dangerous: cars cannot see the bicycles b/c there is a row of cars.

  8. ^^^^^ Because bike walk KC moved the cars out further into the street. DUMB.
