TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! SURVEY SEYZ MORE KANSAS CITY RENTERS COST-BURDENED!!!

The Kansas City silly season debate on affordable housing was ultimately unproductive. Candidate offered pleasantries and protesters were pleased with some TV time and a few newsie blurbs.

Whilst talk of policy might be important, let's not forget the real debate concerns the touchy subject of rising income inequality more than anything else and despite economic news that's mostly just political spin.

Even worse . . .

KANSAS CITY JOINS THE RANKS OF TOWNS WHEREIN RENTERS HAVE TROUBLE KEEPING UP WITH COSTS!!!

Unfortunately, taking to the streets and marching for social media glory doesn't really work to solve the problem despite lies that smartphones deliver by way of "notifications" that are nothing more than addictive stimuli that only provide a smattering of the Instagram booty models TKC really wants amid a smorgasbord of propaganda.

Remember that activists attempted to enact a rental inspection fee to push back against slumlords and the only thing that did was inspire companies to raise rents even higher.

Meanwhile, it's easy to write-off this problem as something that only hipsters inside the loop or in the Crossroads must confront. But higher rents are pushing prices up throughout KCMO as old school denizens and working poor families now can't afford anything decent and have been forced to downsize or move further toward the outskirts of town and our horrible satellite cities.

Again, petty partisan politics attempts to offer a solution: Maybe Prez Trump and all his economic winning can fix it or possibly Bernie-bros and socialism provide the answers. Both sides proudly make their dubious pitch to voters whilst rent remains too damn high and rising.

Check the date from our reporting partners . . .

Renter households in Kansas City need to make $36,360 a year to afford median rent.

A recent Apartment List study analyzed median rents in 100 of the largest U.S. cities and the minimum income required to afford them. They found that in 24% of the 100 largest U.S. cities renting a median two-bedroom apartment will cost-burden a median-income-earning renter.

More not so fun facts . . .

- The actual median household income in Kansas City is $51,740. To rent a median-priced 2-bedroom in Kansas City, one will need an annual income of 36,360 to avoid becoming cost-burdened

- Hourly wage recommended to rent a median-priced 2-bedroom in Kansas City is $17/hour.

- The actual minimum wage in Kansas City is $9/hour. (Actually, only $8.60 according to Missouri Dept. of Labor)

And so, this price fact check reminds us of the rising costs after an administration and City Hall government that has been almost completely focused on pushing, promoting and giving tax breaks to high rent properties.

You idiots. Did you not remember the cut you got on your electric due to Trump? The economy is booming right now. Look to dirty Sly James and his friends if you want to see enrichment.

Oh and John Kerry and many other Democrats didn't show their tax returns either or they only showed part of their returns. Michelle Obama pocketed more money than anyone working for that no for profit hospital.

  5. He won't - but back when the Republican Congress was starting their investigation if Clinton, they requested seven years of the Clintons' Tax Filings from the IRS and received them in a week.

But of course the GOP has put itself totally under Trump's control (out of fear of his little clique of worshipers), and so the IRS will find some excuse not to release Big Donnie's returns, since they want to keep their jobs.

    1. Yeah, sure. HillyBilly's tax filings aren't at all crooked lies like everything else about their funny money games. Seems the IRS just didn't want any of their high levels Arkycided, so they let the Clintoon Crime Family's "data records" get special and speedy release.

  6. Why is everyone so interested in Trump's tax returns? You should be interested in why the deep state attempted a coup on a sitting President.

    1. That would be easy to do if there were really such a thing as "deep state". Fortunately, Trump's tax returns are a real thing, and why would the American public not be interested in knowing if a person (Donald Trump) with a history of horrible money management skills is guilty of tax fraud.

    2. There is, sadly, by the admission of many in it. It's not a goofy conspiracy like Russian collusion. The tax returns kerfuffle is just more butthurt from the losing side. Watch for way more when the investigations into the fraudulent FISA warrant take off.:)

  7. You should be interested in why if the Mueller reports completely exonerates the president, why the republicans wouldn't release that to the public.

  9. Trump releases his returns. Turns out he's even more rich than he said and he just withheld them to drive libtards crazy because they have nothing. Seriously, they always get self owned. You really have to have a mental disability at this point to support any current day democrat

  11. Well @10:26, if Trump is as rich as he claims, then he's been committing Tax Fraud in New Jersey for ten years!

He and Melania have been claiming an exemption on their New Jersey State Tax Returns that can only be taken by persons making LESS THAN $500,000 form any source, foreign or domestic.

Uh-oh. The chips are starting to fall. In much bigger news than this bullshit, the real story of the spying by Obama's DOJ is starting to break.

      Now that's news. ;)

  12. Leftists love their euphemisms. "Equity" really means equality of outcome. "Cost burdened" means you're living in a place that you can't afford but you don't want to move. Both involve turning on the public money spigot full blast until the various grievance groups are satisfied, which they never will be.

  13. @10:52, the Clinton's returns proved that they had lost money on Whitewater (remember that, it was the reason the Special Investigator was appointed).

When Ken Starr couldn't turn up any financial irregularities (the Clintons LOST $250,000), he was ordered to "dig up anything", and it then became very profitable to say you had had any affair with Bill, including the Bimbo who claimed to have had a two-year long affair where she and Bill met weekly in a Hotel that hadn't been built until three years after she testified the "affair" ended.

Your "Deep State" is a Republican entity, funded by the GOP's owners the Global Rich! And it failed to achieve the goal it was assigned.

    1. Believe victims. Unless they accuse the Clintons! If you guys ever had a consistent value position it would die of loneliness.

I suppose Juanita Broderick was making up getting her lip almost bitten off. And Hillary, that great defender of women, was put in charge of 'bimbo eruptions' because Bill was such a faithful husband? You guys would still be trying to cover up and lie about the Monica Lewinsky case if the disgusting evidence hadn't been found, catching Rapey Bill in his revolting lie.

The only way to keep the Ponzi scheme moving is to double down on sugar water incentives. If you pause the musical chairs say city is overbuilt, and held up with smoke and mirrors. Ask to hear about the wins and losses on actual employers who are located here, it gets very quiet.

There is no doubt Kansas City is fun for a tourism fling, there is no doubt that the rest of the city is neglected with mediocre attention given. You get what you play for......
