TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! INSIDERS: KANSAS CITY NORTHLAND CONSERVATIVES WILL NOT VOTE FOR FOR JOLIE JUSTUS!!!
A question of conscience confronts the fastest growing part of town and the biggest collection of residential neighborhoods in the KC proper.
The Northland skews Conservative and it's home to many families. Whilst there are more and more young people in the area . . . Old school voters tend to dominate and their vision of schools, churches and quiet communities for right leaning 1st responders seems to be the "ethos" that dominates this enclave of KCMO. Real talk, the northland is copland with most of the firefighters living out there as well.
Accordingly . . .
KANSAS CITY POLITICAL INSIDERS PREDICT NORTHLAND CONSERVATIVES WILL NOT COME OUT TO SUPPORT COUNCIL LADY JOLIE JUSTUS FOR MAYOR!!!
Some evidence to back up this claim . . .
- Overall the Northland didn't show up to the primary vote . . . Admittedly, the council lady had great percentages from this part of town but that overlooks that a great many of these folks skipped the vote altogehter and during the busy Summer season even fewer are likely to give the Mayoral election much credence.
- Northland political leaders haven't proven very persuasive this election cycle . . . Mayor Pro Tem Scott Wagner was universally rejected by his part of town and Forward KC wasn't able to push attorney Steve Miller past 4th place with their endorsement.
- Finally, right-wing leader Jeff Roe still claims the Northland as his stomping ground and he's not going to get caught lending help to either candidate.
And so . . . We're seeing the Northland likely to skip this vote.
Moreover, let's be practical about KC politics . . .
THERE HASN'T BEEN A CAUCASIAN CAPABLE OF WINNING THE KANSAS CITY MAYOR'S OFFICE WITHOUT NORTHLAND SUPPORT IN 25 YEARS!!!
Northland voters loved former Mayor Kay Barnes and made her invincible at the ballot box. Former Mayor Funknhouser was able to plead his case and garnered Northland support to hold out and beat former Councilman Alvin Brooks in a close contest.
Accordingly . . .
Given the demographic, ideological and lifestyle differences. It's UNLIKELY that we'll see much crossover in support for Jolie Justus from this increasingly powerful and largely conservative enclave.
Developing . . .
Might not need the northland if every person in the corridor comes out to vote for her.
ReplyDeleteJolie or Quinton is a tough one for northland voters. Probably right that most of them will skip because these two don't represent their interests.
DeleteNorth was right to reject Wagner but the first person to say that he'll make him the city manager might win a lot more votes. Quinton would be smart to do that.
DeleteSly would win in a heartbeat. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteIf the northland really thinks about the damage Quinton can do, they will vote for Jolie.
ReplyDeleteIf you want the airport to turn into another slum or ghetto project, vote for Quinton. Jolie is the only real choice for people who don't want to see their part of the city ghettoized.
The Northland is more purple than conservative. Claire McCaskill won in both Clay and Platte last fall and Nicole Galloway won Clay by 13,000 votes.
ReplyDelete^^^^ Were they lesbians too? Just asking.
ReplyDeleteAnd Claire is a very bad example.
She lost.
TOP PHOTO -- MAKING CLOWNS GREAT AGAIN
ReplyDeleteJolie serves as Shook Hardly's PRO BOZO!!!
With the former police chief already endorsing Lucas, its a lot easier to visualize conservatives that do vote choosing the cop friendly, extremely well educated black guy over the sneaky white lesbian.
ReplyDeleteSaid another way, a black male mayor is much less of a threat to their status quo than a white lesbian. You may even see folks that wouldn't normally vote at all come out to support Lucas as the anti Justus. Echoes of many conservatives voting for Obama in the primary because they were terrified of Hillary.
Both candidates will get only small nibbles of support in the North. Lucas will dominate the KCEB votes now with a consolidated black vote. The vote could be close but it's trending toward Lucas in a runaway.
With 30-40% of the vote coming from blacks and ALL going to Lucas, he only needs to find 10-20% of folks that won't vote for a lesbian. Considering there's probably that many that wouldn't even vote for a straight woman, Lucas has a clear path to victory.
Yet another reason why...
Vegas STILL favors Lucas.
Why can’t the northland just break off from KCMO? It would be so much better run.
ReplyDeleteJolie is more of the same incompetence and corruption.
ReplyDeleteQuinton is a drunk driving race-baiter.
One of them wins. We all lose.
^^^ Agree.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've been pondering who the Northland will support as well, and I really think that Quinton's social media presence, his quirkiness, and his love of KC Sports is going to give him the edge in the Northland.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell y'all how many ignorant conversations I'm frequently confronted with regarding Northlanders wanting to know if the candidates are Republican or Democrat.
At the end of the day, if they see Quinton getting pumped about local sports, they'll connect with him at that level and ultimately go with him.
Jolie is a policy wonk and I'm just not convinced that most Northland voters understand or care what City Hall even does. No offense to the Northland folks who do, all I'm saying is that I lived there for eight years and their priorities for the city couldn't be more detached from what is actually happening in Jackson County and the urban core.
Pretty spot on.
DeleteWhat really changes the northland vote is who the public safety unions may endorse.
ReplyDeleteHave to disagree, @12:13 - Northlanders are so disgusted with the abysmal Police, Fire and Ambulance emergency response times they have suffered for decades, that the "Public Safety Unions" have little or no influence left.
ReplyDeleteJolie is associated with the initial corrupt airport process (Burns and Mac).
ReplyDeleteQuinton questioned it.
That is all I need to know.
The real eastside doesn’t like Lucas one bit, He ain’t done jack shit for the real eastsiders east of 435, but we don’t like Justus either. With these two clowns in office you’re either voting for the lgbtq agenda or the black power movement. WE ARE DOOMED EITHER WAY.
ReplyDeleteThe UNI=Party options available now in Kansas City will soon be coming our way on a National basis.
ReplyDeleteJolie will get the vote of 5 lesbians and 4 faggots north of the fiver.
ReplyDeleteJolie "Sly" Justus versus Quinton "The General" Lucas
ReplyDeleteBlacks aren't going to get all enthusiastic over an overweight white lesbian like Joliet.
ReplyDeleteYou can't worry about something you have no control over .Just be a dozen steps ahead of the elected officials .The guy, that has a few drinks in his car and Sleeps in his car. Because he knows its,not safe to drive home .may be the better candidate. They are puppets it all depends who is pulling the strings. Who was pulling SLYS,STRINGS .
ReplyDeleteWhy aren’t transgender Asians represented in the race for mayor? This is a disgrace!
ReplyDeleteIf you don’t vote for quinton you are racist! If you don’t vote for Jolie you are homophobic! I’m a gender confused progressive and this race is making me crazy!
I remember when the star talked about the election instead of just promoting the candidates.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to tell them that part of Kansas City is north of the river. I don't think that either Justus or Lucas knows that little piece of trivia.
ReplyDeleteJolie will do fine in the Northland. She only lost the Northland in the primary by 81 votes
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone vote in this election, regardless of the location? this election is making me depressed because they're both trash
ReplyDeleteJolie has spent her entire career focusing on identity politics and lapel-pin issues that will turn off conservatives. Quinton is a self-made person who reflects the "American dream": his story is the ultimate fairytale for conservatives and confirms a vision of America as a land where anyone can make it. He's got lots of public safety support and a record as a fiscal conservative opposing "crony capitalism" If he plays his cards right he will pick up lots of votes up north.
