TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! FORMER KANSAS CITY MAYOR ILUS DAVIS ENDORSES 'THE GENERAL' VINCENT LEE AND ACTIVIST CLAY CHASTAIN IN PRIMARY ELECTION!!!
One of the most celebrated names in Kansas City politics has returned to the scene in order to take a bold stance on tomorrow's election.
FORMER KANSAS CITY MAYOR ILUS W. DAVIS OFFERS STUNNING SUPPORT FOR TWO ALTERNATIVE CANDIDATES!!!
We caught up with Former Mayor Davis at the Bishop Spencer retirement community where he's still leading a very active and comfortable life.
Here's what he had to say . . .
"Both "The General" Lee and Clay Chastain offer a viable and thoughtful departure from politics as usual. In this crowded field it's hard to distinguish one contender from the next but I've seen the coverage and debates and it's obvious that only these two can break the mold and bring new ideas to KCMO. The General seems to understand issues from his community and speak to them with courage that other candidates can't muster while Clay Chastain has said that he wants to save the airport that I helped to build and devise a better transit system to support it. KC would do well to consider these two when going to the ballot box."
It was encouraging to see the former Mayor so eager to engage new opinions and ideas. As Kansas City works to build a monument to former Mayor Kay Waldo Barnes we must pay respect to a man who already has a statue and park built in his honor whilst he hopes to influence Kansas City politics for the better.
You decide . . .
Glad to see some WISDOM from a KC elected leader for a change. Really great short interview T. Great journalism!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Mr. Davis is doing well!
ReplyDeleteHe was one of the best mayors that Kansas City has ever had. His endorsement carries a lot of weight in KC. One of our greatest leaders.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I have a premium subscription. Thanks for this TKC. Really good to properly inform the public about the real voices of our city.
ReplyDeleteYou probably think Clay doesn’t have a chance in this race and that a vote for him would be a wasted vote, but if all the folks who have a good feeling for him would just vote for him, who knows, perhaps he can make the runoff and then we would have a real election for a change.
ReplyDelete^^^^ Totes agree. I'm voting for him and making my wife do the same.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of when another reporter interviewed a Kansas City Chiefs players who was going through a tough time and was forgotten about. We have so many people invested in our community, it's great that the Internet allows them a chance to speak!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... he looks remarkably well for 102. I do respect his judgement.
ReplyDelete2 MORE KCMO MAYORS CONCUR WITH DAVIS!
ReplyDeleteLast night, I ran into Bartles and Jaymes while enjoying some wine coolers at a Boy Scout function.
They both agreed with Davis' assessment of the current race.
We are voting for Clay!
ReplyDeleteKC Please vote for Clay. We need to take our city back from the destruction of Sly and the others.
ReplyDeleteI saw the former mayor and his wife recently at bingo at the center and they were both were in excellent spirits.
ReplyDeleteThere's to many candidates running in the primary. It's time to talk about representational voting. These elections do not represent the communities and are rigged by the nature of low voter turnout.
ReplyDeleteSly James is the Kim Jung Un we never had!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from the former mayor. Really loved all that he did for this city. A true stand up guy!
