TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE 99 ENDORSE QUINTON LUCAS FOR MAYOR!!!

This law enforcement nod is important for a lot of reasons but mostly because it offers a glimpse of nearly total union and first responder support for Quinton Lucas.

More importantly . . .

KANSAS CITY FOP ENDORSING QUINTON LUCAS IS THEIR BIGGEST POLITICAL POWER MOVE TO DATE!!!

It's a game changer in terms of growing influence for this group if their candidate wins and another sign that the Northland continues to gain ground, slowly but surely as a political powerhouse . . . Given that most cops and FD live on the nice side of the bridge.

Remember there was a preview to this when former KCPD Chief Corwin endorsed Quinton Lucas as well . . .

Here's the word FIRST ON TKC . . .

Quinton Lucas Receives Key Police Endorsement

Kansas City, MO – The 1,600-member Kansas City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 99 has announced their endorsement of Quinton Lucas for Mayor of Kansas City, cementing Lucas’s status as the only candidate endorsed by the entire public safety community, as he runs to make Kansas City safer.

“Quinton has always stood up for the women and men who work hard each day to keep our community safe and will do so as our Mayor. Quinton is from this community and for this community. He listens to our officers, is the only candidate to build relationships with officers through KCPD ride-alongs, and recognizes that nothing is more important than the safety of our community. Too many families in Kansas City are impacted by violence; Quinton will change that. We are proud to endorse him and even prouder to work with him as Mayor and as a member of the Board of Police Commissioners,” said Brad Lemon, President of Fraternal Order of Police.

In response to the endorsement, Lucas said “Nothing is more important to me than the safety of our citizens. We will never be the Kansas City we should be if our friends and neighbors live in fear. No matter the neighborhood, parents should know their children are going to come home safe. I am proud to support and stand with law enforcement as we work to improve the quality of life for every Kansas Citian by building safer neighborhoods. We don’t need more task forces that put reports on a shelf. We don’t need blue ribbon commissions to talk circles around an issue. We need as Mayor who will commit to taking our city off the top ten most dangerous cities list. I will do just that and I know that requires working with and listening to our police. I’m honored to have strong local support from our public safety community. I look forward to curbing the crime rate in our City, and making sure our community and our police officers are safe.”

  1. And that's the KC election.

It was fun while it lasted.

    1. All about turnout. Midtown can be lackadaisical at times but Clay & Platte county didn't exactly impress during the primary. Turnout wins this one and it makes more sense that unions can get their people out than the progressives who support Jolie in a non-election year with no reinforcement from cable news.

    2. Jolie is the development candidate, she gets the prog & lawyer vote but to be honest most of those people live in JoCo.

  2. Don't blame me, I voted for The General.

  3. "Nothing is more important than the safety of our citizens".
A quote from non other than Lucas.
Who is one of at least 13 people who could have addressed the horrendous homicide rate in KCMO and has done absolutely NOTHING during his entire term in office.
    What's next?
Telling taxpayers he's going to be a responsible steward of their money?
A vote in this election is either for Tweedledumb or Tweedledumber.
    Lose-lose.
    World class.
    Hahahahahaha!!

  4. Interesting. Jolie crapped out on the union support and her HRC endorsement felt more like she was getting outed not pushed forward. The spoiler here is if she can get money from across the country to get those midtowners out and voting. Corridor turnout for Jolie has to be amazing if she's going to pull this thing off. Think about it.

    1. This is accurate. Unless Jolie fundraises far beyond KC, this one is tilted toward Lucas. Even then, she has to spend wisely enough to get people out to vote. This is something the unions and Freedom can do effectively and free of charge for Lucas, making his fundraising less important.

The "he is one of us" grassroots story grows today for Lucas, reaffirming current Vegas odds.

  6. Sure, why endorse the white lady? they are not good customers

  7. This endorsement is huge. Jolie chaired a horrible anti-crime task force for the mayor that didn’t include a single member who know anything about crime. Reports from those on the committee was that it was a joke and Jolie did nothing. The report listed a number of social programs, but left out that dozens of kids are being killed by those that don’t give a damn about more programs. North of the river and far south will take this endorsement seriously.

  8. Don't like police telling me how to vote. They should stay out of politics and stick to fighting crime. They're having a hard enough time keeping up with that anyway.

  9. Lucas likes his barrel hot.

  10. Nobody cares or respects the opinion of the cops. Either of these worthless candidates will suck the remaining life out of Kansas City anyway.

  11. Agreed Adrian. When the police endorse a guy with a DUI, it says volumes about how fucked up the KCMO has become.

I voted 'U-Haul' long ago and have never regretted it.

  13. Decided on Lucas long ago. I may not agree with him on everything but handing over KC to an openly lesbian progressive who has a soft spot for developers and huge public projects will lead KC to bankruptcy even faster.

  14. Voter turnout at a whopping 17% of registered voters? Likely.

  15. Anybody but Sly.

Jolie seems like Sly in a dress. The only difference is that Sly is a little lighter on his feet and has slimmer hips.

  16. Methinks that Conservatives in this election don't really have anywhere to turn. Would really like to see partisan elections in KC next time around so at least some of the voters in districts 1 & 2 have a better idea of exactly what they're endorsing.

  17. Lucas needs to hire him one of those mean, nasty, generic KCMO Frosty Fags to get the homo's on his side. Some premature balding, bearded, beady eyed, phobic, fake Kansas City Nice smile political fag consultant who will lie and spin for cash.

KCMO's political system is literally in the process of self-destructing, and it is a horrifying as well as funny and entertaining thing to watch.

  22. Which is the lesser of two evils?? Kansas City will never amount to anything due to liberal control. When Berkley was in he got things done and Kansas City was thriving. Gay people are not healthy people, and yet you choose that to run the city. Very Sad!

  24. CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police were dealing with hundreds of teens running through downtown Chicago Wednesday night, yelling, stopping traffic and running in the streets.

A huge police presence did not deter the rowdy behavior at Millennium Park. Police said they told most of the teens to go home, and directed them towards public transportation.

Nice new Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is getting things off to a good start. LOL... I wonder how our new mayor will do.

  32. Nice to see law enforcement backing a privaged fool who used his skin color and status to get out of a DUI. Tells you a lot about the caliber of the police force in Kansas City. What will Lucas excused be the next time he is busted breaking the law?

This stinks, the whole fucking election stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've voting for Quinton but not because of this, a vote for Jolie is just a vote for her law firm. Already they have too much control over city hall.

  34. Somebody said something about voting for a wedge of cheese. THAT was pure comedy my friend. Just the kind of voting guide we need.

  41. What has Lucas done in the past to promote law enforcement and work at reducing crime in Kansas City?

Now all of a sudden Lucas is concerned about the safety of the citizens.

Now all of a sudden Lucas is looking forward to curbing the crime rates in Kansas City.

In four years as a city council he has done very little to curb crime. In fact he has done nothing in his four years that has or will improve life in Kansas City at all.

Voting for Lucas won't be about change, it will be all about business as usual where nothing ever changes except the taxpayers have to hand over more money for nothing in return. Quinton like the street car and wants it extended so expect that to be a hot topic for him to screw over the taxpayers with.

  44. People like Dave hate just to hate. He’s been clear that he doesn’t like either candidate, so his words ring hollow. I for one will be more likely to vote for the candidate that the public safety folks support. They deal with these candidates in a daily basis and are much more aware what the candidates have done.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sorry but Dave isn't hating he is saying what a lot of us feel and think. I don't like either candidate either so does that make me a hater? A closed door deal I bet was made with Lucas and the FOP if he wins. That's how this stuff works and has been for more years than you've been around 2:54.
