SOUTH KANSAS CITY INFERNO POSTSCRIPT: COACH'S CURSED!!!

We normally skip fire stories but this is a tragic conclusion to a long-suffering tale. The place was flooded thanks to old & busted KC infrastructure neglect, one of the co-owners was reportedly gunned down by a South KC racist serial killer, and today that empty shell of the biz was a local "hot spot" for all the wrong reasons. Take a look:

Fire erupts at old Coach's Bar & Grill location in south KC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 103 Square, the strip mall that used to includes Coach's Bar & Grill off 103rd Street near Holmes Road in south Kansas City, Missouri, caught fire Saturday afternoon. A spokesman with the Kansas City Fire Department said the building was vacant and the fire may have been started by homeless squatters.

  3. Cheap built apartments and undesirable KCPS brought a "different" demographic to Coach's hood, starting in the 1990s....4/28/19, 1:15 AM

What?! Squatters!! That area was so excellent up to a couple of decades ago. The families in the tidy homes near that 103rd St business district, north to 85th St, south to Red Bridge Rd, west to Roe Blvd, east to Holmes Rd, were some of the best neighbors, friends, co-workers, and fellow parishioners at CTK and Saint Thomas when I was a first time homeowner at 21, 30 years ago. Move-ups from the KC modest starter homes brought new build booms to Louisburg, southern Leawood, Lee's Summit and wherever good schools and amenities were moving into.

  4. Maybe they shouldn't have declined to prosecute trespassing vagrants and created a safe haven for them.

  5. No doubt gay homeless men.
