Given widespread damage on local streets, there's growing opposition to the froufrou scheme devised to further limit local traffic and siphon money away from much more important street repair. Take a look:
Groups split on necessity, cost of Bike KC Master Plan
For several months, officials with Kansas City, Missouri, have met with the public about what the proposed bike plan would look like and why it's needed. Now, a major infrastructure push could be a step closer to becoming reality and making KCMO a more bike-friendly city.
Hacks
ReplyDeleteKCMO cannot maintain the current failing infrastructure so it is beyond belief that they should spend "$387 million to $418 million" on worthless infrastructure that BikeWalkKC wants. Take the "$387 million to $418 million" that BikeWalkKC wants and spend it on fixing potholes and making streets safer for everybody including FedEx drivers.
ReplyDeleteRemember, kc was given federal dollars to build the bike lanes a long time ago and spent the money on everything but, now it’s come back to haunt us once again. Every federal dollar kc gets for something gets spent on something else and then us taxpayers has to cough up the money to cover some lame politicians (sLIE) ass. Why aren’t these thieves put in jail?

ReplyDelete@10:56, when have you ever seen anything f__kable riding a Bike in KC? It's always overstuffed spandex about to pop!
ReplyDeleteMost of the bike people wanting this are homosexuals. We already have done enough for them.
ReplyDeleteWhy should the city and taxpayers be forced to create something that benefits so few, when so much that benefits all is ignored and not being repaired?
ReplyDeleteTax all bike riders. Let them pay for it.
ReplyDeleteNot just do we need better bike and pedestrian environments for all ages, but we also need to have more day-to-day destinations available at a closer distance. This would mean we will need less I infrastructure for cars (wider roads and parking) in our daily lives and save money maintaining public infrastructure.
ReplyDeleteTotal waste of capital.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it KCMO does not have a real game plan. Bike paths that go to no where and stop . Barry going south down Broadway . The new paving on North Oak down to to NKC stops at Cerner Bikes need to pay their way.
