At an intersection for mostly hobos and less fortunate near the otherwise bustling city center . . . Take a look at another pedestrian hit in the middle of a very busy street that wasn't intended for pedestrians to cross.
Here's what we know so far . . .
FOX4: Pedestrian dies after being hit by semi in downtown loop
Deets:
The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. Eastbound I-70 is closed at Main Street
UPDATE -- Confirmed that highway crossing isn't advisable: Man killed while trying to cross Downtown Kansas City loop
Developing . . .
Play in traffic and you will see death bestowed upon you.
ReplyDeleteif you are a semi going from denver or tulsa to iowa, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO weave merge dodge around the city and go TO THE interstate EXCHANGE IN DOWNTOWN KC AND HIT disrupt congest SOMETHING!
ReplyDeleteWhere's Bike/Ride KC with their usual outrage?
ReplyDeleteIf we just would get rid of all these trucks, along with the cars and other vehicles, of course, and delivered merchandise on bicycles as God intended, these types of tragedies would never happen!
Never miss a tragedy to make a ridiculous special interest point.
"No Pedestrian Traffic " on the Interstate system means just that.
ReplyDeleteProbably a tent person. Nobody is going to miss them if they are homeless.
ReplyDeleteNeed to help these people. No one is looking to be homeless. Didn’t wake up and suddenly say I want to be homeless.
That had to hurt---probably not very long though
ReplyDeleteHavnt you ever heard of suicide by truck?
ReplyDeleteI think it was just overconfidence. He was a smart man. Probably thought traffic was slow enough to cut through.
ReplyDeleteI know the guy who was hit. He was an active member of the community and an advocate for bike/ped. I can’t imagine what led him to try to run across I70, he is someone who would have clearly knew the risks.
ReplyDeleteAn avid leader of biking and making KC "walkable" gets killed crossing the highway. Is this irony?
