KCMO takes a second look at road resurfacing projects

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Missouri, Public Works Department already had a list of roads to consider repaving in the upcoming fiscal year when potholes began popping up over the winter. Now, the department is taking another look at that list.

  1. If KCMO had left their functionally acceptable airport terminal alone, I'd think the minimum $1.5B that's going to be spent there could have paid for street maintenance/repairs on all of KC's major thoroughfares.

It's called "opportunity cost"; the money squandered on one project could have made a highly significant impact elsewhere.

  3. "Consider" or repave? I'd bet there will be a lot of the former and not much of the latter.

  5. They should take a another look. The whole flipping city needs repaved. Maybe they should consider recycling Sly James crap he spews out it would be a lot cheaper if you can stand the smell of his crap.

  7. "Now, the department is taking another look at that list", before they promise the money to a developer.
