Double Back: Kemper Crash Redux

Missouri Valley Special Collections, Kansas City Public Library / Report on the Kemper Arena Roof Collapse On June 3, 1979, the Kemper Arena hosted a convention of America's top architects. The group gathered inside the West Bottom's sleek modernist arena, a structure it recognized as "one of the finest buildings in the nation."

Jethro Tull played a concert there April 27th, 1979 and the Kansas city Kings played a game against the Boston Celtics there April 30th 1979
