Court Dox: Feds Foiled Woman Who Wanted To Burn Down Kansas City 39th Street Biz

Case files reveal an incredible save by authorities that targeted one of the fastest growing parts of Midtown Kansas City:

Prosecutors say the suspect offered an undercover agent $150,000 to burn Mia Plaza, near the northeast corner of 39th and Bell streets. The property has three tenants: 39th World of Spirits, Bob Wasabi Kitchen and Sahara Sheesha Lounge. The suspect allegedly told the undercover agent that she was about to lose ownership of the building and that it was insured for more than it was worth.

Federal officials charged a Gladstone woman with attempting to hire an arsonist to burn down a commercial property along Kansas City's 39th Street corridor. Mia Lee Jamison is charged with one court of attempted malicious destruction of property, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
