Clay Chastain Claims City Hall Discourages Write-Ins For Kansas City General Election

The latest word from the most prolific petitioners in KCMO on the topic of his ongoing campaign . . .

Clay Chastain: Is City Hall trying to stop Clay from being a write-in candidate?

Today Clay contacted the City Clerk about filing an affidavit, or a declaration form, officially declaring himself as a write-in candidate in the up-coming general election. The City Clerk informed Clay that she was "making up the ballot to send to the election board and there is no room on it for a write-in candidate line." When Clay protested that cannot be THE CITY CLERK added, " Besides, you cannot run as a write-in candidate in the general election." Clay replied as to where in the City Charter does it state that? "She didn't know," she said, and that she would have to get back to me . . .

Beings I am a degreed electrical engineer (who was on the Dean's Honor Role, made straight A's in English and passed the professional EIT test on my first try) I think I can read the City Charter. No where in the charter does it prohibit a registered voter of the City from running as a write-in candidate for mayor in the general election.

Is Kansas City turning into some kind of socialized, progressive and totalitarian state that makes up the rules as it goes along?

Clay Chastain, and still write-in candidate for mayor in the City's general election.

  1. No one annoys Sylvester and his cronies more than Clay, except locals who want the city hall stooges to actually do something productive and beneficial to everyone other than themselves.

  2. "I think I can read the City Charter."

    Guess you can't. Weird.

The city clerk is right. He had his chance and got 0.92% of the vote.

  3. Clay needs to STAY in Virginia. He's really going to get himself in trouble with voter laws if he continues.

  4. Clay, you're getting further and further off the rails. What is a degreed Electrical Engineer? Passed your EIT first time? Huzzah, I don't know a single Engineering student who didn't. They literally have free on campus prep courses leading right up to the day before the EIT you have to actively TRY not to pass it. How about your FE exam, you know, the important one? Did you pass IT the first time? Did you pass it at all? Did you even take it? MO, KS, and VA do not have record of a Chastain registered as an Engineer. To be clear: you are NOT an Engineer without passing the FE exam, AND completing your licensing State's minimum requirements (i.e. 4 years active practice under direct supervision of a P.E.) You're being clever with the use of "degreed" as stating you are an Electrical Engineer, if you are not, is technically a violation of State Law. See, I can read State Statutes as well as you can read the City Charter. My write-in candidate goes to SuperDave. You've lost me with the braggadocio and childish behavior.

  8. I support SuperDave for Mayor4/10/19, 6:22 PM

If what Clay is saying is true about write in votes and the election is held without that option it would appear to me good reason for a lawsuit to have the whole election throw out.

Maybe SuperDave might be our better option. One thing for sure is he might fire Chris/Go4KC.

Dave sounds like the kind of guy who would sit at a council meeting and tell the developers with a hand held out looking to be filled to go fuck themselves. We know for sure he would shut the street car down and more than likely turn the KCI project upside down. You think he'd get out potholes fixed and tell PD to either do their jobs or find work elsewhere? A person who isn't afraid to bark out the truth with solutions is what this town needs.

  11. Get the vote out to get the bloat out.

Streetcar running tab should be a major issue. They keep skunking in two here and two there. They could care less that tech industry has them already obsolete and obscenely costly.

    Glad D.C. isn't buying it

More scooters is the answer!!!!!!! Birds and Limes everywhere. Everyone in the loop is to receive a free scoot scoot, however medical costs are their own responsibility. Also, they will double as targets for shooting practice. WE ARE NUMBER 5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Does he still write descriptions of his female petitioners on the sidebar? I'd like to see that, asking for a friend.
