And just think. The only thing between reality today and building the Hyperloop is between $40 and $70 billion dollars!
This in a state that doesn't have the money to maintain or repair the roads it has and in a country with a budget deficit of over $1 trillion every year.
But, but we want it.
It's so shiny and new!
Any guesses as to where this new committee is going to suggest the money come from?
And, no, folks aren't against "progress".
But letting what you have fall apart so you can spend money on everything new 'aint it.

@8:02 has a good perspective. Everyone needs to understand KCMO's planned obsolescence ordnance. When the city wants something replaced they quit maintaining it and in about 10 years it fails and they cry that it needs to be replaced. Before long the city will be replacing what was built 2 to 3 years ago.
Sprint Center is not that old and the planned obsolescence has already started as the center is showing its 10 to 12 years of age.
