Jackson County: Convicted robber charged in multiple robberies of two Family Dollar stores

A Kansas City man previously convicted of robbery has been charged with several felony charges in connection with multiple robberies of two KC Family Dollar stores, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

The suspect faces four counts of Robbery 1st Degree, three counts of Armed Criminal Action, two counts of Attempted Robbery and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.*

According to court records, between Dec. 15, 2018 and March 20, 2019, the defendant robbed or attempted to rob two Family Dollar stores, one on Prospect Avenue and the other on Truman Road. Surveillance from the stores and License Plate Readers from the area at the time of the robberies showed the defendant or his vehicle with license plates that are registered to him. At the latest attempted robbery employees recognized him as the individual who earlier robbed the store. A search warrant of his residence found two handguns matching the description of the suspect guns. One was silver with a black grip and other was black with a silver slide.

Prosecutors requested a $75,000 bond.

    1. I thought a robbery was part of the dollar store "experience" and pretty much bar for the course for this part of KC.

      There's that momentum again.

    2. The story says he was "accused of robbing one Family Dollar store four times since December 2018."

He should have just got a job there. Probably would have paid more.

  5. Don’t forget she got him a monstrous $75,000 bond, that’s chump change for armed robbery, he’ll be out robbing more stores as soon as he post bond. He won’t go to court for three years at the rate petersucker is going, all her cases take on average three years so...... many more victims to follow!
