SHOCK!!! KANSAS CITY STAR SNUBS COUNCIL LADY JOLIE JUSTUS AT THE ZERO HOUR AND ENDORSES PHIL GLYNN AND COUNCILMEMBER ALISSIA CANADY!!!

Credit to our blog community . . . Behind the scenes we bullied the newspaper out of it's editorial malaise.

And so they pick long-shots in this silly season snub . . .

Endorsement: Mayoral candidates Alissia Canady and Phil Glynn are change agents KC needs

The reasons are stupid, condescending and phony.

Council Lady Canady deserves consideration because she had the courage to VOTE AGAINST the airport and the MLK Blvd controversy.

Meanwhile, "Fugazi" Phil Glynn is nothing more than the leftovers of Jason Kander's career as an elected official in ruins.

Even better . . .

THEY SPEND MOST OF THEIR ENDORSEMENT TALKING ABOUT COUNCIL LADY JOLIE AND THEIR DISAPPOINTMENT BECAUSE THE TKC BLOG COMMUNITY CALLED OUT THEIR FAVORITISM!!!

From all of us here at TKC to the mainstream purveyors of fake news across the metro . . .

You're welcome.

  1. Better title. Star takes a mulligan.

  2. Paper supports every cockamamie bad idea put forward at the hall of city and then calls for change.

  3. They probably didn't take well to another candidate's text blast?

  4. Just goes to show how awful the choices for KCMO voters are.
Out of 470,000 residents in the city, this is it?
    Hahahaha!!

  5. Hey, speaking of stupid, condescending and phony, let's talk about how great Clay Chastain is!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Glynn, Canady and Lucas are the clear choices for mayor. All of the rest are just talk like Sly which the paper seems to point out.

    ReplyDelete
  7. ^^^^ That would make sense if it came from another paper but The Star has been pushing Sly's agenda all along.

  9. I would endorse Alissia in she weren’t so fat. She is really fat. Fatter than a hog. FAT FAT FAT

  11. What about Quinton and his DUI he got after a drunken night in a Lawrence gay bar? It hasn’t been resolved yet.

  12. Is it any wonder KC Star is going out of business? This endorsement shows complete lack of depth or understanding.

  14. It's "public money for votes" politics that swings elections, not endorsements from largely irrelevant newspapers.

  15. Mayor Sly James kicked him off the Tax Increment Financing Commission for voting ‘no’ too often.

    Haaaaa hahahahahahaha that is funny

  16. FAKE NEWS

"We’re also impressed by councilman and KU law professor Quinton Lucas.."

    Except he's NOT a law professor, he's a lecturer.

Star editorial board is incompetent as ever.

    1. Is Quinton a homosexual? Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s just that queers generally announce their homosexuality to the whole world.

They ought to try giving the paper away for free for a while. See if that works.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Maybe the Star did this thinking by doing so the voters will now vote for Jolie who is the one they really want to win.

When it comes to the Star you can't trust what they say.

Well they forgot me. Where is my endorsement?

  22. This is a good thing. 7:18 for the win.

Still, to change and go against the machine choice, shows
eventually real criticisms showcasing the hollowness and
tone deafness of the Chamber play have been kicked to the
    curb.

New leadership, new agenda, good. Change the Mayoral agenda then
change the deep bureaucracy that is not serving us so well.

  23. Isn't Cannady the good one who seems to actually be looking out for KC residents? Seems weird the star would endorse her

    ReplyDelete
  24. Odd that the Star, an entity in KC that has reaped many financial benefits from City Hall, is endorsing 2 candidates who, at least on paper, stand again the bad fiscal policies that the Star has enjoyed for many years.

Cannady and Glynn may be the least corrupt of the available candidates. Thus they may do the least amount of damage. Cannady seems genuine and was the only one that spoke out as much as she did against the airport.

Hopefully it comes down to these 2 in the end. I think the rest are just S'lie followers. In the end, it may not matter. S'lie talked a good game before he became Mayor and then just became openly corrupt and a puppet to the rich and developers after he got into office and started to get bought. So it may happen to Cannady and Glynn too once they get in office and see how much money they can make for themselves under the table from developers and the wealthy. Who knows...

I actually agree with The Star. Armageddon ahead. I hate The Star but they are right on the money on this one.

  26. Good to see rubber stamping boondoggles like:

    The Airport Mess

The Streetcar expansions against the voters, then suppressing voting to continue the spending

The Parking Garage subsidy for the luxury condos with taxpayer money

    Rock Island Trail Melt Down

Green Zone waste of 60 million

    Smart City effort that wasn't

The Entrepreneurial mantra that ended with not much but a huge distraction

Kanady cares about her neighborhoods, Glynn wants responsibility back in favor

I wish I could vote for them as a team. Send the entrenched deep bureaucrats and the fixers packing. Time for the machine to face regime change.

  27. Clay chastain will bring change .

    ReplyDelete
  28. This simply shows that the gang at the Star may actually know what bad shape Sly and the gang has left the city in and this is their first attempt at backing away from all the support they gave these clowns over the years.
    Revisionist history: Step One.
But it's really hard to cover up such bad judgment and lack of demand for accountability for all these years of the antics of the James administration and its supporters.
And an above comment is right on the money.
All the campaign talk in the world makes no difference.
After the election the same insiders, grifters, bond attorneys, developers, east side revs, and Chamber swells will call the shots.
    It never changes.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I will vote for clay just because I like his platform...but realistically, the powers will never let him do well politically so.....then for cannady! Anybody but

  30. Trivia question: what is the difference between Henry Klein and Steve Miller?

Answer: Klein has a general idea what the Mayor does.

    ReplyDelete
  31. God, I hope there aren't people who care who the Star endorses.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "Clay chastain will bring change." That's his problem. He should be bringing bills (and nothing lower than a $50 please).

    ReplyDelete
  33. Canady's "do you know who I am?" when being ticketed by police still rankles.

    Lot's of EGO there.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I endorse THE GENERAL!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ah, I had forgotten about the "do you know who I am" comment....may have to reconsider, you are right, a lot of EGO which we already have enough of in City Hall.
