Kansas City Council Approves Budget That Adds Cops, Supports Entrepreneurs And Fixes Streets

The Kansas City Council on Thursday passed a budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year that adds more police and funds to fix the city's roads. The entire city budget is about $1.7 billion. It includes a 70 percent increase for road resurfacing - from $10 million to $17 million.

  1. The City still can't effectively provide for street preservation. Public Works said they need $45 million a year just to maintain roads so expect further deterioration and crumbling streets. It ain't gonna get better on its own, people. Wake up!

  2. You want to talk short on manpower, KCKPD have 30+ officer positions open, only 3 recruits in the academy, and 3 officers retiring this month. The reason is most likely because applicants are required to live in WYCO.

If they would just reach out to the two intrepid officers who searched the Bolivar MO hospital room of the stage 4 cancer patient looking for WEED, they would not need more than just these two HEROS to end crime forever in the metro. Contact the Bolivar Police Dept and see if Barney and Cletus would come to the KC area to fight crime.

Also, to hell with "street preservation". We have to get MLK blvd up and running in perfect condition.

  4. Too little too late, sLIE made sure our streets will remain trashed for another thirty years because of his incompetence.

  5. Not unfilled promises just more city hall hot air.
