Midtown Kansas City Condos Still Garbage

Update on luxury living space complaints and a sign that the so-called downtown renaissance is more like a bubble. Take a look:

Fire code violations found at Midtown condominium complex last week

KMBC 9 Investigates has obtained the fire marshal's inspection reports for the Park Reserve condominium complex in Midtown after more than 75 people last week...

  1. I went to the Park Reserve website and they call themselves “luxury condominiums”. They don’t show photos of the units or property on the website though for some odd reason just the floor plans.

Anyone know anything about this place?

  2. The "luxury" complex is a converted abandoned hospital renovated on the cheap.
If people want to live there, fine, but they should have had pretty low expectations from the start.
And they should keep in mind that they live in a city that has way more interest in "developers" than in public safety or the condition of buildings.
Just another example of hyping crap.

  4. Sounds like the people who bought these condos have more dollars then sense.
Don’t feel sorry for them at all.

  5. If I am not mistaken, this project was partially funded by a CID. I have seen so much un-supervised use of TIFF and CID monies given out by the government. There is no oversight on these kinds of Community Improvements. It just gets shoved back on the taxpayers in the way of levies. I don't think the public realizes how this borders on white collar crimes. And yet, they walk, because nobody gets it!

  6. Anything north of 31st street is considered downtown, not midtown. I don't make the rules, but at least I know them, unlike the local new orgs
