New auto tech makes grabbing a brand new car even easier. Here's an update with a presser on the crime uptick underway right now . . .

Car thefts increasing in KC as cold weather persists

Hundreds of cars have already been stolen this year in Kansas City, Missouri. Some cases are preventable, but some could involve high tech hackers. KMBC 9 talked to a KCPD Community Interaction Officer to find out what's happening."We had a total of 533 stolen auto reports taken since January, said Officer William Keeney.

533 cars stolen in one month. Damn, that seems like a lot. Granted I don't know what it usually is but that is a lot of crime either way

Murderers use stolen vehicles so the number of vehicles stolen indicates homicide is on the rise. Momentum in more way than one.

^^^Only one that I know of in a sedan. None in larger vehicles. Probably would have to buy a used vehicle, but it can be done.
