We had a good conversation about this LAST WEEK and today it's in newsprint at gas station and mostly ignored. Read more:
Controversy over race turns into hope for KC nightlife | The Kansas City Star
It started as yet another controversy over how black people are treated in Westport. A black man shared on Facebook a secret "no play list" he'd discovered of rap and hip-hop songs that a white bar owner forbade his DJs to play.
His bar, his rules.
ReplyDeleteDon’t like it, tough shit, the world ain’t got time for whiny ass bitches who start race wars over nasty music that is about foul language, drugs, rape, Robbin and murder.
Spend some time on the real problems, murderous blacks.
Are we going to pretend the bar owner isn’t absolutely right.
ReplyDeleteThe star says it was indefensible. The star must not be able to find its ass with both hands. It was eminently defensible.
ReplyDeleteThe Star becomes more and more desperate as it continues to manufacture stories. This is one

ReplyDeleteThe article says the negroes want to know why they’re excluded from the city’s social scene. I can’t believe this is really difficult for them to understand. From their loud, cheap and crazy behavior to the fights, shootings and other crimes that are part of their culture, no sane business owner wants to run the risk of having them ruin his livelihood. The article also says the black event promoter’s crowds are made up of doctors, lawyers, etc. If the young, black crowd is so successful, why don’t they open their own clubs in their beloved jazz district?

Great article
ReplyDeleteWe are not going to get to 200 murder per year without listening to music that glorifies killing, raping and robbing. Let the music play and let the fire go.
ReplyDeleteI'll ask again, can I go to Club Mingles at 86th and Troost and get the DJ to play some Johnny Cash? Van Halen? Mumford and Sons? Of course not. Does that make them racist? No. That club owner can play what he wants, as he should. Should the guy in Westport be able to ban certain music? Absolutely, it is his bar. Just like Chris Rock said, "black club grand opening-one week later grand closing."
