Kansas City 'Rent Too Damn High' Redux?!?

We talked about this one yesterday but The Pitch finally got around to it some time last last night. Here's the hipster take on the topic that's worth a peek and consideration of KANSAS CITY'S MOVE TOWARD SOCIALISM for better and worse:

Fed up with poor living conditions and abusive landlords, KC Tenants advocates for better affordable housing in Kansas City

Roughly 50 protesters marched toward City Hall in nearly sub-zero temperatures Monday morning. "Hey, hey! Ho, ho! Slumlords have got to go!" they chanted. The demonstration was also an introduction of sorts - the launch of KC Tenants, a new grassroots organization advocating for better affordable housing options in Kansas City.

  1. They don't sell steaks for hamburger prices. You can't rent luxury for basic housing.

  2. ^^^^ F-ing stupid. Don't comment on this blog drunk. You don't know what the Hell you're talking about @11:38. This was a march for more accountability from landlords. Don't be such an idiot and put some thought into your comments. Nobody needs you here taking up space. Go try to stir up some friends on FB. You might be more comfortable in that idiot playground.

Rent in KC is too high. Time to end the reign of slumlords!

  4. 11:44 rent isn't to high you're just too stupid to understand it. What you can get for rent is based on the area you're in. It's based on evaluation of the property and taxes paid and so forth. A one bedroom apartment in a complex I know about has a waiting list for those wanting to rent a one bedroom for $805 a month that includes
24-Hour Fitness Center, Business Center & Co-Work Space
Carports Available for Rent - $30/month, Central Air & Heat, Complimentary Resident Move-In Concierge, Conference Room, Elegant Clubhouse Entertainment Room with Fireplace, Kitchen, and TV Fire Pit, Garages Available for Rent $85/month, Patio/Balcony, Picnic & Grill Area, Playground
Poolside Sundeck Lounge, Pool, Upscale Interior Finishes
Washer/Dryer In-Unit and Stainless Steel Kitchen Appliances.
What do you think rent should be $200 a month?
if you want lot of things you have to pay for them. If you think rent is high you have not checked into a hotel of late.
Avg rental in OP Ks is around $1153 a month.
In Kansas City Mo it's $975 a month.
If you think rent is to high then buy a house but I doubt you would qualify for one 11:44 since you probably have no credit, no job and expect someone else to pay your bills.

  7. I know lots of people who bought rental property only to have it trashed by pit bulls and tenants who never pay rent. There is not a shortage of affordable housing there is a shortage of responsible tenants.

  8. ^^well then the dumb ass landlord should never have rented it to those assholes! His fault. NEXT!

  9. @11:44 states "Rent in KC is too high. Time to end the reign of slumlords!" Says the person with the gender studies degree, jobless and off their medications.

  10. Maybe when people start taking care of the places they rent the landlords won't be so abusive. Take a look at the Georgian Court and the Bainbridge. Those tenants leave trash all over the entire central Hyde Park area, then cry rats. Not to mention the crime. so sure landlords are going to get abusive those people caused it. drive by's drugs murders. Get rid of the slumlords and they have no one. Act like trash live like trash!
