Amtrak to resume service between Kansas City, St. Louis next week
Amtrak announced Friday that its Missouri River Runner Service between Kansas City and St. Louis will resume on Monday.The service has been suspended since March 19 because there is increased freight train traffic because of flooding in the Midwest.Amtrak said in a news release that chartered buses will cover the Amtrak route and stop at all stations as close to the train schedules as possible, but delays are to be expected.Passengers were urged check their train status on Amtrak.com before departing.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A local mail carrier who found an abandoned dog along his route a few weeks ago, officially adopted the dog he saved. According to a Facebook post from KC Pet Project, Kansas City was recovering from -5 degree temperatures with the windchill when Nate found Sloan.

Odd mix of rain, thunder and snow for Kansas City through Saturday
FAIRWAY, KS (KCTV) -- The rain and thunderstorms are moving into and through the region as expected. There have been a few thunderstorms just west of Kansas City that have produced some nickel- to dime-sized hail. "I would expect the chance for marginally severe hail to continue through the evening hours," StormTrack5 Meteorologist Brett Anthony said.
