Concerns over how to pay for new airport continue

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Construction on a new Kansas City airport is set to begin later this month, but how the city is going to pay for it is still up in the air and some worry the city may be in over its head.

  1. Don’t worry, sLIE and Jolie will make sure we pay for it

  2. At the end of the day, the taxing authority of a city is the guarantor of financial obligations a city takes on.
When all the games are over, the taxpayers end up holding the bag.
And they have not been well-represented or even told the truth in this airport fiasco.

  3. A builder will not start building a person a house before they have a signed contract. Yet the city wants to start building an airport before they have a signed contract. Something fishy going on here and the taxpayers are going to suffer big time. Besides the taxpayers have been lied to big time.

  4. I remember when a room full of rocket scientists said, "Challenger is go for launch." We have a room full of significantly less that rocket scientists saying, "KCI is go for launch."

  5. Gotta hurry and tear it down so we have no choice but to accept a re build at any cost. Suckers

  6. Oh Go ahead and build it. If the old people and small business' can't pay for it they can just get out of town we don't need em

  7. That might just happen 9:43 and then "YOU"LL" really have to come up with some cash to cover all those smart enough to jump ship and leave the debt to you. You want it so damn bad you pay for it.

When you live your life on-line, who would need such a thing as a “downtown” or "new airport"? To do what?

  10. What companies do an actual 90 million of labor and say 'oh we can TRY to get paid for it later.' They want a signing bonus of obscene proportions.

  11. Don’t forget we gave them 40 million last year, people have forgotten that already

I wonder why Tony even bothers to have a comment section, since he deletes truths he's uncomfortable with. Perhaps I'm being unfair. Maybe wittle Tony has the stomach flu and his momma is running the show. I'll bet that's why comments are being deleted.
