Last year developers straight up told KCMO that there were too many hotels. Nevertheless, this local content offers renewed hope despite a worsening economic climate. Checkit:

  1. Only KC would build a new hotel to compete with those it's already subsidizing.

  7. We need to upgrade the quality of our whores in Kansas City. The only really good ones are the students at KU working their way through school by whoring in KC.

  9. The hotels keep going up with funny money and meanwhile back at the ranch, the employees of the Power and Light district say the place is dead from Sunday through Wednesday, as in no activity.

We have sugar juiced the "momentum" in a ponzi scheme. Time to consolidate, improve the basics, and focus on other dimensions of the city running well.

If Jolie wants to just keep on with version 2.0 of the Sly/Cleaver/Chamber/KCPL agenda then it should not be too hard to defeat her platform. All the City Council players look weak not having more differentiation or criticism when things like the Airport and Rock Island mess have been going on.

Watch the hotels languish in the off season, doing very little good for the average citizen. A complete clean sweep seems like it might be make more positive the public view of things. That and maybe try to get voters to actually play a role in democracy, unlike what is going on on both sides of the state line.
