Kangaroo Crossing: What's with these signs around KC?
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - You see pedestrian crossing signs around Kansas City, and deer crossing signs a little outside of town, but now you'll see kangaroo crossing signs all over Kansas City. Last month the University of Missouri-Kansas City began installing 200 traffic-style signs with a picture of a kangaroo and the words "UMKC grads are everywhere."
"Potholes ahead" will be the next signs installed at every entrance to KCMO.

ReplyDeleteSec. 70-958. - Unauthorized signs, signals or markings.
(a) No person shall place, maintain or display upon or in view of any street or highway any unauthorized sign, signal, marking or device which purports to be or is an imitation of or resembles an official traffic control device or railroad sign or signal, or which attempts to direct the movement of traffic, or which hides from view or interferes with the effectiveness of an official traffic control device or any railroad sign or signal.
(b) No person shall place or maintain nor shall any public authority permit upon any street or highway any official traffic control device bearing thereon any commercial advertising, except for business signs included as a part of official motorist service panels or roadside area information panels approved by the state highways and transportation commission.
Kangaroos and MLK neither have ever been to KC.
