This is coming, and you're all powerless to damn thing about it! The city keeps moving forward!
ReplyDeleteAt best it is moving sideways and into massive debt, but keep being an obnoxious asshole.
DeletePair this with the new airport and expanded streetcar line and everything really will be up to date in KC!
ReplyDeleteOh look the dolty urban & finance expert is here!
DeleteWtf i wrong with you, you worse than the pissed off white guy yellin' nigger all the time whose kid was killed by a black guy
DeleteThis should have happened a generation ago. Then again, this is Kansas City. The NFL and MLB stadiums are not downtown, and the airport disaster is jammed way up north.
ReplyDeleteIn true Kansas City tradition....whoever the developer is for a downtown stadium is going to be given massive tax breaks/incentives by liberals on city council. You know...the progressives who rant and rave about “income inequality” and “affordable housing” while sucking off the corporate pole.
^^as opposed to the conservatives who blow up deficits with huge tax cuts to the rich? I'll take the liberals please. They posses financial acumen as opposed to fiscally stupid conservatives who blow surpluses. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI loathe 2 party bipolar pricks bickering about which party is shittier when they both crap.

How could anybody say no to downtown baseball in KC? It’s time to start the conversation
Anyhooz he was pounded with a massive flurry of NO's on that tweet.
^^anyhooz, they were all from pants-shitting geezers who will all be dead by the time it's built so none those no's really mattered. The more you know!
ReplyDeleteWtf i wrong with you, you worse than the pissed off white guy yellin' nigger all the time whose kid was killed by a black guy
Delete^^^..and yet it isn't. Weird.
ReplyDeleteDowntown baseball stadium is the only subsidized construction I actually support because it does create development for local businesses. I also supported the Sprint Center. Sports works like that. The big 12 tournament next week will bring in a lot of money for the city. With a minimum 81 home dates the royals would bring in a lot of business downtown...which is actually needed since right now the P&L is a shaky card house.
ReplyDeleteI've been a royals season ticket holder for years and the location of the stadium is the worst imaginable and so inconvenient. It makes sense for football to be out in the middle of nowhere, but with 81 home games, it doesn't make sense to have your stadium overlooking a denny's and taco bell

ReplyDeleteNo they were not geezers. In fact it was mostly younger people. Which was I admit pleasantly surprising.
The idea of a downtown ballpark is great for the city. I don't think anyone in the ballpark's current neighborhood will actually care. It's not like it has triggered any type of development in the area aside from a couple of dated hotels, a Subway and a run down gas station.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a HUGE financial windfall for the team and they should pay for it. While it's mostly a valuation windfall (i.e. the team is worth more) that's no different than a homeowner that must take on a mortgage. Royals can take on debt and pay off the stadium over 20 years, see the massive increase in earnings, and everyone (team, fans, media, developers, businesses) will be happy.
12:45 People here in this part of the country go to the Royals games to watch baseball. Not to shop, eat dinner, go to a bar etc.
ReplyDeleteCorrect, @12:49. It's the bar-flys & posers, too cheap to buy game tickets/wanna sit in the air-conditioned pub while watching the bar teevees/get table service instead of waiting for stadium vendor or climbing stairs to concessions/and the SMOKERS wanna git dey puff on, y'all.
DeleteWhy is the Star editorial board doing the dirty work in gifting David Glass around a billion worth of taxpayer money?
ReplyDeleteI look forward to The Star cheerleading for taxpayers to foot the bill for the billionaire owner.
ReplyDeleteWalmart and david glass got rich off of poor people selling borrowed goods, destroying communities, and plan to continue.
ReplyDelete^^yes, more of them..less of you.
ReplyDeletei'M A PANTS SHITTER. Love to sit at home, relax, lean back in my recliner and drink beer or highball, maybe noshing on some snacks while watching Chiefs and Royals when available, knowing the only asshole I'm making richer is Dish Network.
ReplyDeleteParking charges? Uh no, my garage. Obnoxious fans? No just me. Weather? What weather? Ticket prices? Huh? Yep, love it. Oops, pause button, gotta go you know where. Where were we? Oh yeah, downtown stadium. Ok. I never go across the f-----g river anyway, so whatever. More sales taxes? Not in Gladstone and NKC and Amazon. So build it. Don't care.
^^hey asshole, a portion of that dish network goes to the Chiefs and Royals. Dummy.
ReplyDeleteThat whole idea is a clusterfuck
ReplyDeleteGreat idea about 40 some years ago.
ReplyDeleteI love Royals stadium the way it is, just don't like where it's at. PLUS, this city council like those before them can't even take care of potholes
On KCPT's Ruckus, panelists discussed the topic of moving Kauffman Stadium to downtown Kansas City.
ReplyDeletethey're gonna need one hell of a big truck
3:59 Hey stupid, he said Dish was an asshole.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, see you guys at the downtown stadium groundbreaking.
