Downtown Kansas City Price Gouging For Parking Spots Starts NOW!!!

Here's a preview of $40 parking at the minimum and more visitors from Iowa providing the illusion of "vibrancy" inside the loop. Take a look:

Several downtown KC streets will close for Big 12 tournament

The Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship returns March 13-16 to the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Fan Fest and other tournament-related activities will close several streets surrounding the Sprint Center from Wednesday through Saturday.

  1. 40 bucks to park, And to think they want to put a baseball stadium downtown, this is just a small time basketball tourney. This is a sign of what’s coming people.

  2. You can try to sell watery beer and charge champagne prices, but it's still crappy.
KCMO thinks that price gouging and making parking inconvenient somehow makes it a big time city.
The backwards thinking is all just a part of the breathless hype for the downtown renaissance.
But it's all still just a little mid-west town with a terrible inferiority complex.
Too bad we can't just enjoy what's there for what is really is.

  3. Didn’t you run this exact same article last year Tony? I guess the worthless geezers who read this blog won’t remember anyway.

Oh wow that's real smart. Let me guess. Everyone is expected to use the streetcar, electric scooters, and kiosk bicycles.

  7. If it weren’t for the big12, who or why would anybody go downtown? It’s pretty much barren most of the time. And this is how they treat the people who come here.

Sorry troll, that wasn't me. I know, you've used your crystal ball & decided that I'm the geezer hater, even though I'll be 65 in two days.

"He's the smartest person in KC."

You are so well informed, it's scary.

  16. ^^ You're not even the smartest person in the barnyard. The sheep you so dearly love are smarter than you.

  17. @7:58, rickshaws FTW. Watch out for the obese fatties, got to load them right over the axles. Put their snacks in front for tongue weight, but make em wear seatbelts or you're eff'd.

  18. It's already $20 to park for a baseball game and there's no option to park anywhere else because it's out by the scrapyards. Then you have to walk a mile through gravel and dead possums to get to the gate. Downtown games would be great because myself and others could find other places to park and even save money
