CELEBRATE KCMO GROUNDBREAKING KANGAROO LGBT FRAT!!!

According to many critics, for far too long the "Greek" system on the city college campus was the last vestige of old school patriarchy. Now, a new option offers not only diversity but a "safe space" for LGBT dudes who want to experience fraternity life among people who identify similarly.

TKC never joined a frat but this actually seems like a nice idea and possibly a way to challenge the alleged "male privilege" perception of binge drinking and date rape that usually encumbers college campus party people associations . . . For what it's worth, it's very hard to TKC to distinguish betwixt the branding of any frat given that I don't like hanging around a bunch of dudes in the first place . . . And even the "classic" tenants of fraternities always seemed a bit homoerotic.

And so, before haters get too carried away . . . Here's a look at nothing more controversial than some college guys who wanted to start their own club. Checkit:

UMKC fraternity provides positive experience for LGBTQ+ men

On college campuses across America, Greek life has cultivated a reputation and culture of its own. But for UMKC's newest fraternity, breaking into this world poses unique challenges. Members of the LGBTQ+ community have long existed within the margins of society, and Greek culture on college campuses is certainly no exception to this.

  1. UMKC needs a gay frat house with a capacity of about 5000. Almost all male students there are homosexuals.

  3. They really don’t need a gay frat house for 5000 or 7000 men. Probably half of them want to be girls and would rather be in a sorority.

    1. And that will probably be the next federal lawsuit, especially now that girls can join boy scouts. Crazy.

  4. I thought all frat rats were gay.

    1. All, no. But plenty are and are usually loved and accepted by their straight brothers which seems to make this new organization a little redundant.

  6. I am shocked that many students at UMKC are gay. I would have thought it was maybe 50% or 60% at most.

  8. They call 'em GREEK for a reason.

  9. Well, I'm personally offended by the "LGBTQ" lack of inclusion. I don't see an "S" for straight people in their acronym.
