  1. Shouldn't be riding on that street anyway.

  2. Streets are no place for bicycles. If they are to be on the streets lower the speed limit to bicycle speed.

  3. You should ride your bike safely in the designated areas.

  4. I'm a bike rider and understand they have the same rights as cars but I don't ride on busy streets, it's too dangerous. We all see the people driving slow and weaving in lanes, pass them and sure as shit they're texting. Way too many bad, distracted drivers.

  6. This would never have happened if there were a dedicated bike lane on that street. Because bike riders are protected by a force field when they are in a dedicated bike lane.

  7. I just moved here from Palo Alto, California where thousands of people bike to work, and most school-aged kids bike to school on a daily basis. Collisions with cars are extremely rare, as motorists respect cyclists the same as they do other motorists. Kansas City's mindset needs to change. You would not say motorcyclists shouldn't ride on certain streets, would you? (maybe you would) Kansas City needs to be more progressive. Cycling is better for the environment and better for fitness. Let's get with the program. That being said, I would NOT choose cycling as my mode of transportation due to the frequency of motorist/bicycle accidents.

  9. 10:16 are you stupid or what. I lived in LA and outside of campus areas or residential areas, I seldom saw a bike rider. For damn sure didn't see many on the busy surface streets as they call them out there. Look it's easy to grasp fool, but a bike going 10 maybe 15 mph has no business being alongside cars going 45 to 50 mph as they do along that road. That's why interstates have minimum speed limits so people dodging slow moving cars are not running into either the slow moving object or others.
