Local pastor condemns United Methodist's gay marriage ban

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Methodist Church, America's second-largest Protestant denomination, faces a likely surge in defections and acts of defiance after delegates at a crucial conference voted Tuesday to strengthen the faith's bans on same-sex marriage and ordination of LGBT clergy. Emotions were high throughout the third and final day of the UMC's meeting.

  4. I am a Methodist. I hope all the gay ex-Methodists enjoy their new spiritual homes. They should join the Presbyterian church. They disregard scripture pertaining to the sin of homosexuality.

  5. I been thinking about going to church. The only church I ever been to is Churches Fried Chicken. Never even knew there was a church for Meth. I smoke Meth like 2 or 3 times a day and ain’t got addicted yet.

The Supreme Court has ruled that bans on gay marriage violate the equal protection clause of the Constitution.

It doesn't matter what the "Bible" says, & it doesn't matter what the Methodists say.

Thank God, we are a secular nation of law.

  11. Yeah, @9:36, you and all the "good Christians" posting here need to be careful that "Judge Not" business doesn't come back and bite you on the ass!

  16. Maybe this is for the best. Maybe the homosexuals can find churches that can cure them of their homosexuality.

  18. The church is the a for healing and the sick. So the church should invite everyone in to hear the non-Fred-Phelps version. However, the catch is if individuals would like to become Christians, then they need to be baptized (in Christ, not some local church membership role) and they need to part from their old ways. This is the same for anyone. Obviously some churches have become less Christian and more like a social club. Blah blah blah. Have them go to the "COC" church in Independence. They're the old imploded RLDS church who are now gay affirming and have gay clergy.

  19. "I'm SHOCKED that homosexual pastor Hamilton would condemn his United Methodist denomination leadership." -- said NO ONE

Good grief! This is the same guy who stood in the National Cathedral and fawned over homosexual new President Barack Obama, a Muslim who slandered Midwestern Christians as backward clingers to Bibles and guns.

Hamilton is a Liberal opportunist who specifically targeted the south Leawood demographic years ago, after checking the census figures for the highest income zip codes. Yes sir, it takes a true commitment to Jesus' teachings to avoid the impoverished, dirty, and downtrodden in favor of those who struggle with such issues as "should I drive the BMW or Mercedes to church on Sunday?"

  20. Who cares what the church says. Everybody live their own lives! Stop trying to control everyone else. Who cares who fucks who? If you do, fuck you. Go to church if you're gay...what are they going to do?? Mind your own fucking business everybody. We are not a nation of Gladys Kravitzs.. Grow up!

  21. @ 903 - The behavior you support has been so good to society and the world. After all it brought us the HIV and AIDS epidemics you don't hear too much about anymore, Along with syphilis gonorrhea and the several other sexually transmitted illnesses because people that refuse to change to normal rather than perverted behavior just keep it going. So the sooner all of you fudge packers die the sooner we quit wasting money trying to cure it.
