TKC TOLD YOU SO!! KANSAS CITY BIKE LANES STAY LOSING TIME & MONEY!!!!

Check this fun chat with a local cycline guru speaking up for Midtown Kansas City bike lanes that have been unusable for the most of this Winter and serve mostly as a monument to horrific urban planner fads . . . Checkit:

Snow doesn't stop avid bicyclists from getting out, but bike lanes need more attention

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - "It's the best feeling, like I can do whatever. I can go wherever I want," said Mike Ivancic, avid bicyclist. Ivancic doesn't even let the snow stop him. He was out bicycling in the snow on Wednesday. Ivancic is the president of Cycling Kansas City, a group of 800 bicyclists.

  1. If you want to accurately direct your outrage at the money wasted on bike lanes, look to the USDOT and Federal Highway.
They give “grant money” to cities to put in bike lanes. St. Joseph & Columbia did the same thing: got federal dollars to put bike lanes in under the guise of “alternative modes of transportation.”

That’s also why sidewalks get built along roads that you never see people walking along.

USDOT: must invest in all modes of transportation including bikes and pedestrians.
Then they have to change out hardware on stoplights to make them “bike and pedestrians friendly.”
States and cities can face penalities if they don’t go along with it.

  5. ^^No. No, you're not. YOU are sitting around in a rancid diaper trying to be witty on a blog for dying geriatrics and failing miserably. That's what you're doing!

Bicycling is the most important advancement in the history of KC. We need protected bike lanes on every single street in the city providing a safe and vibrant experience for cyclists.

Vote for me for City Council

  8. What I would like to know is, how are they going to clear the protected bike lanes ??? shovel them by hand and if so who????

I would also like to know why bikers don't follow traffic laws, You know like signs lights so on and so on.

  10. Most bicyclists are homosexuals so they’re used to getting the shit end of the stick, so to speak.

  11. Dude is hard core if he’s riding this week. Cold is one thing but snow is something else. Even as it melts it is nasty and everything gets black. He doesn’t even have fenders on that bike. Plus I woukd want lighter colored clothes for visibility.

Never heard of his group with allegedly 800 people in it.

Bicycle riders are not the same as bike activists.

The armour bike lanes are very silly and unless the money was 100% a federal check I can’t understand it. Really hoping the planning geniuses leave paseo, 36th st., Gladstone blvd., 18th street, Meyer, etc. alone.
