TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! DECIDED: CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE REIGN CONCLUDES 2019!!!

The upcoming silly season election are bringing about a more important change than just a slew of politicos ready to take their turn at legal bid rigging for the benefit of their friends & campaign donors . . .

The word tonight . . .

FALL OF TROY!!!

More . . .

THE CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE ERA IS COMING TO AN END AS THE NEW MAYOR & COUNCIL TAKE HOLD!!!

His legacy is up for debate and he has both fans and detractors.

But this isn't a love letter goodbye. The newspaper can write up a prettier political obit since they missed the FIRST News. FACT: Behind the scenes the push for the departure of the City Manager is now a part of the discussion for the next mayor and Council members given that his defenders are no longer a Council majority.

So far the feeble forums have been too nice to offer open discussion of this uncomfortable topic but as the election moves closer, local activists and insiders want new leaders to know that part of their job will be picking a new city manager.

And so we will neither praise nor detract from the rule of City Manager Troy but simply offer news that he's not going to be around 12th & Oak for very much longer.

And so we offer this meager traveling music playlist to one of the most influential City Managers in KCMO history:

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  1. Time for Change. Troy wasn't great but much better than anyone we've had in the past 30 years.

  2. City's a train wreck

  3. So both Schulte and Sly slip away and leave the mess, much of it still uncovered, to the poor schmucks who will be elected in April?
Changing the watch on the bridge of the Titanic!
And unpleasant surprises under every rock that gets turned over.
    What a sad joke.

  4. Crime, potholes, trash and debris all over the place.

    Nice work!

  5. Don’t worry people when there is finally a new mayor I will sit down with them and explain what Troy has been up to with his “very creative finance mechanisms.” If Troy stays in the state of Missouri it will be that much easier for the authorities to arrest him. You think I am kidding? There has been felonious activity underway on a variety of projects. I will bring sunshine to things - it is the best disinfectant. Troy, your time is almost up.

  6. Troy is a fat lying criminal motherfucker.

  7. Remember when Troy said he wouldn’t lose any sleep over this job. He certainly ran it that way.

  8. Hire Mark Funkhowser as City Manager.

  9. 8:36 - WELL SAID, and maybe once the stupid street car gets swallowed by a pothole, the city will actually use tax money to fix them (dont hold your breath) soon Bird scooters will be allowed on sidewalks, because with the 4-9" deep potholes everywhere in this city, a bird scooter rider, a bicyclist, a marathon runner etc rider could get killed, and we will have to wait for that to happen before the city fools do nothing more to fix whats broke in this city and but more effort into placing blame on everyone else. This city is such a joke!! KC can build a new airport - it will be great first impression, but when your streets look like something from hell it wont matter. Where are the tax dollars going in this city??? for sure not into street repair!!!!!!!

  10. Kansas City has gotten so bad that many businesses are leaving and people are refusing to buy in KC because of the taxation. That's not counting bad streets, crime, filth, crumbling buildings, and a real low quality of life.

  11. if i had schulte retirement perks i would have been gone long ago and not to have to put up with the bullshit

  12. City is not a train wreck, it is a Streetcar wreck

Perhaps there can be a claw back on the brilliant subsidy for a luxury parking garage. This was when we knew he was missing the plot

Some other town might want the value pack, Sly and Troy together. Now who could we wish that upon.

Clay and the Funk, and don't be afraid to go outside the region to get some integrity and expertise if that is what is required. Less amateur committee actual micromanagement too
