TKC MUST SEE!!! ACTIVISTS DEMAND KANSAS CITY'S NEXT MAYOR CHALLENGE THE PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!!!

The growing debate over clemency for some of the extraordinarily high number of people incarcerated in the United States now confronts Kansas City mayoral hopefuls.

Brief aside . . . About the lead image: Adam Zyglis is a Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist and this fair use snippet of his work "Land of the Free" offers a glimpse of the American justice system which many believe is broken.

Hence . . .

ACTIVISTS AGAINST MASS INCARCERATION CHALLENGE KANSAS CITY'S NEXT MAYOR TO ADDRESS PROBLEMS OF THE SO-CALLED PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!!!

As of this writing, few of the candidates have confirmed but it'll be interesting to see if SJW activists can convince political hopefuls to help free inmates at a time when neighborhoods are demanding more police on local streets.

Here's the word:

Mayoral Forum : Decarcerate Kansas City

Deets:

"The purpose of this forum is to give Kansas City voters an opportunity to discuss the issues that they feel are important in this election. The theme of this forum is Decarcerate Kansas City: End the Criminalization of Poverty and Race in Kansas City. The public will be invited to ask candidates questions related to criminal justice concerns.

"The Kansas City Criminal Justice and Equity Coalition represents individuals and organizations who are deeply committed to policies aimed at reducing the number of people in our city jails, eliminating biased and unfair practices involving cash bail as well as improving the relationship between the community and gaining local control of the police department."

You decide . . .

Actually, this make sense because KCMO is going to have a big role in building the next jackson county jail. So it's worth talking about the overall plan the next mayor has for this city possibly locking up more people.

KC has a horrible record against crime, if they get involved in prisons they will only make things worse.

No need to free prisoners in KC, we have a reputation for letting them and never convicting them.

Start with drug offenses, until they lock up pharmaceutical executives putting one class of drug dealer in jail over the next doesn't really make sense.

Build the wall higher.

We need more prisons and less politicians.

Put the new prison in the caves.

Activists sure do "demand" lots of shit - I hear there's even a pack of idiots that want to start re-naming streets in Kansas City!

I guess one of the things that puzzles me, is the often revelation that perpetrators of violent crime seem to have rap sheets as long as your arm. I worry about a traffic ticket, but these folks are in and out of prison and jail their entire life. If they rob, assault, carjack etc., then end up shooting each other, I have no sympathy because jail time doesn't seem to have any effect. I don't know the answer, or at least an answer that society would accept.

These activists just ensured the crime rate of KCMO will skyrocket.

It's great to be an "activist" and not have any need to really study and understand the issues that you're "demanding" be changed.
And especially not to have any responsibility for the results and unintended consequences which invariably arise.
And it's especially good in KCMO where the elected "leaders" fold to whatever threats and intimidation is brought, however slight.
"Government" by the mob.
What could possibly go wrong?

Golly pops, sounds like you need a diaper change!!!!

How come the activists aren't out hustling and producing wonderful high paying jobs for the disenfranchised?

House criminals in Terminal A at the airport.

I would also like to see another cartoon, this one depicting the victims of the people drawn behind bars.

Anyone who is interested in the definition of panderfest should attend this forum.

Not even checking it out since I noticed the link goes to Facebook.

They aleady have probation. Add a probation for whether or not your criminal record remains public, OR what happened to the CCA, OR how you like job fairs for the formerly incarcerated where companies officially take pity on your sorry ass.

Not an issue for the mayor or city council is it?

Decarcerate Kansas City: End the Criminalization of Poverty and Race in Kansas City

You don't need to attend to clearly understand the warped mindset of these so-called Social Justice Warriors. They are stating that they believe those incarcerated in the American penal system are imprisoned because of their race and economic status at the time of their offense.

They perpetuate the belief that if you don't have the life you desire, it's because you're a victim of society. You are not responsible. It's not your fault. You are being purposely oppressed by a wealthy white heterosexual male patriarchy.

But what about Barack Obama, Emanuel Cleaver, Sylvester James, Lucas, Justus, Reed, Canady, Barnes, Darryl Forte, etc.? Pay no attention to them, for they're surely just puppets put in place to deceive you.

9:24 and 9:36 are dead on the money.

Releasing violent offenders into the city's population may provide a short term endorphin into our egalitarian utopia seen through an "activist's" rose colored glasses, but the result, is usually not a Hallmark moment in the end. Recidivist, violent criminals in prison, usually remain recidivist violent criminals when they get out and the damage they inflict on citizens is real, bloody and appalling.

This is a political initiative, designed to motivate the black block voter in a "look at me!! I am even more liberal than (Fill in the name.)".

Misguided, feel good, pernicious efforts like this, always result in news articles that you will never see written and videos that you will never see, of innocent citizens, murdered, raped and assaulted by the criminal benficiaries of same, who, laughing up their sleeves must think politicians are crazy.

Anyone who thinks drug dealing is a victimless crime has never had a family member who was addicted to drugs and seen the addict and his/her children.

So very sorry about your son.

I lost a good friend a couple of years ago on the Indian Creek Trail to the black serial killer, Fredrick Scott. Black on White violence is endemic, pervasive and yet, obfuscated and dismissed by the Liberal Media, who, in league with the Democrat Party, seeks to maintain, in the obvious, unambiguated - "in your face" truth of that black on white violence, a narrative of ongoing White on Black Hate Crimes that don't exist.

It provides them power, sinecure and money, on the backs of the dead, like your son and my friend.

We already have the weakest prosecutor ever, Jean Petersucker Baker. I think we need more prisons and longer sentences to keep people safe.

Anonymous said...

Here is the secret formula
1. Stop committing crimes
2. There will be fewer arrests and convictions
3. This will have fewer people sent to jail
4. Problem solved

Build a bigger jail and lockem up!!!

@Citizen, 12:15, I assume you're joking. There is no end to the school-prison complex without major reform in preventative efforts. Significant, immediate, definitive actions to disincentivize violent criminals, before they ever start, is the only way it will work. An in-out-in type of penal system is utterly ineffective in its current state where, while unpleasant, it is still better than existence in many third world countries. If we as a society are not willing to enforce our civil laws, maybe we should go back to biblical code. Eye for an eye, life for a life. Yes, it would be terribly third world and brutal for at least a decade, but then we would be on the path to restoring peace and prosperity for all in this land.

"End the Criminalization of Poverty and Race in Kansas City."

WTF? End the criminalization of race? These people are loons!

"Significant, immediate, definitive actions to disincentivize violent criminals..." Describe the actions you have in mind. Be specific. Most of your post is vague but trendy cliche.

Corporal and capital punishment I suspect.

Hey @1:23, I was just trying to use the keywords that were present in every one of my PA4xx classes.

Better line yet, how bout the next mayor challenge the liberal industrial complex. They are killing this city with their stupidity

60 percent in Jackson County Jail cannot afford 500.00 for cash bail. 22,000 a year are locked up in that jail, that makes a turnover of 900 beds every ten days at a cost of 105.00 dollars per prisoner per day.

^^^ Maybe they should put them in a work camp situation and make them pay it off? Worked in the old days. The death penalty would be my next choice for these idiots.

Don’t do the crime............
