A caveat before TKC Reader reactionaries get started . . . Ça Va is too pricey and high class for this scumbag blog and most of the sportos, motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies and dickheads who read every day so let's not take this story too personally. Westport remains dominated by dive bars and overpriced, middle-class bromidic, fare. This joint is a rare classy respite and there's nothing inherently wrong with trying to spruce up a part of midtown that's famous for grown women peeing on the sidewalk.
Nevertheless, challenging the politics of the "safe space" is perfectly acceptable whilst keeping in mind that this very smart biz lady also proves herself incredibly brave by sharing a very personal story and offering insight into rough & tumble service industry culture that must undergo change like everything else.

Look at the number of rapes just in Westport and in the Broadway corridor. They might not all be fancy places but something should be done to bring don the level of assault overall.
ReplyDelete^^^^^
ReplyDeleteThat will never happen
Not exactly a good place to go to pick up bar sluts. It might be a good place for all the homosexuals to go.
ReplyDelete^^Is your dad there? That cat smokes more pole than anyone.
ReplyDelete^^ Voice of experience.
ReplyDelete^^that dudes dad? It sure seems like it. He's the blow job "queen" of KC for sure.
ReplyDelete&:18's daddy is the biggest fairy in KC. He passed some of that to his limp-wristed son, that's why you get all these posts about homosexuals and sucking cock. Jr. sure has some latent tendencies doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteIs 7:18 the same dude who posts about sucking cock all the time? I think he is, so you're probably right. He is a closeted homosexual.
ReplyDeleteCa Va is a great place. I'm glad that none of the reprobates who read TKC can afford to go there. Good riddance.
ReplyDelete^^True dat!
ReplyDelete7:18 was it cold last night working your corner on Independence Ave?
ReplyDeleteWell, most of Midtown and Westport are homosexuals and they need places to go as well. So this might be one of them.
ReplyDeleteThis reads like a silly blog post by some girl who wanted an excuse to talk about how she was raped or something but didn't really know how else to go about it talking about it. You can tell because her anecdote is purely solipsistic and has little to do with the actual content of the article. Most decent restaurants do stick up for their customers and employees anyway, but I'm sure crappy places like applebees do too...they just don't advertise how they're actively trying to engineer social interactions and create bullshit female empowerment hashtags. I do agree that it is wise to train employees in how to manage difficult situations but that is almost a platitude and that notion doesn't come until the final paragraph
ReplyDeleteWhy are all the gay people so defensive? I thought it was supposed to be ok to be gay. Someone points out that they have certain characteristics and they spaz out.
ReplyDeletesolipsistic? Projecting Twit.
ReplyDeleteWhat recourse is available when dealing with General public, shes being a more sensitive manager, but that won't stop crime outside of the restaurant's walls
ReplyDelete^^Here's a clue Colombo, you can't prevent crime!
ReplyDeleteShe’s trying to make a nice classy place in a changing entertainment district. Most Westport bars look like they are filming an episode of Cheaters. Good for her.
ReplyDelete-Radish
A safe space for one percenters who spend their days sipping champagne.
ReplyDelete^^^^Better doing that than consistently pissing and moaning on here about some stupid thing!
ReplyDeleteFive juveniles charged in robbery and shooting death of 24-year-old Nashville musician killed. ... Three girls, ages 12, 14 and 15, and two boys, ages 13 and 16, were charged with criminal homicide in the death of Kyle Yorlets, who was gunned down behind his Torbett Street home.
ReplyDeleteGuess what they were all black but will it be a hate crime? Hell no they never charge blacks with a hate crime.
No place is safe anymore other than your own home where your armed and ready to blast the first black person who come through the door.
^^Ugh huh. Doesn't really pertain to what we're discussing though. So why don't you take that shit back to the Klan rally Cletus? Those of us with all of our teeth and who aren't inbred are busy discussing adult things, so simper off back to the trailer park now. Savvy?
ReplyDelete1:26 what's the matter the truth to hard to take? You jump off subject all the time but guess when you do it, it is ok. 1:18 says no place is safe and this story is about being safe somewhere so it's on the subject at hand and you're not which is nothing new you moron.
ReplyDelete^^^It is OK when I do it, cause I'm smart and talented and have something to offer. You, stupid dave, have nothing to offer, can't write, and quite frankly dave...seem retarded.
ReplyDeleteOh snapp 1:18PM got knocked the fuck out!!!!!
