TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! COUNCILMAN QUINTON LUCAS EARNS TOP SPOT AS CASH KING IN KANSAS CITY CONTEST FOR MAYOR!!!

Voters in Kansas City are desperately looking for a leader to emerge in a crowded mayoral race that has featured many forums but few insights into the unforgiving details of how elections in this town are won behind the scenes.

As usual, our blog community is FIRST to share how this contest is really shaping up.

NOW, we have news that will resonate among every informed voter, elected official and political consultant today . . .

TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! INSIDERS CROWN QUINTON LUCAS AS CASH KING OF THE KANSAS CITY RACE FOR MAYOR!!!

Here's the word and perspective that, as always, belongs to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS . . .

"Lucas is the new cash king, Miller continues to have a wealthy network but also has sizable debt, and Jolie remains strong but is spending a ton of money. Taylor's fall continues and his race looks all but over, Glynn had a strong quarter but only barely has enough to cover his debt, Reed continues to benefit from Ollie Gates' love but doesn't seem to be trying for anything. At the bottom, neither Canady nor Wagner can find a way to raise money."

Now check the evidence to back it up . . .

Cash on hand heading into the final weeks is all important and will determine how hard campaign "volunteers" & consultants will work:

Here's a glimpse at how the contest has played out in these final rounds:

Now, take a look at the money game with just a bit of snark via TKC intro headlines that make this fiscal WILL TO POWER slap-fight just a bit more fun for all of our broke-ass but highly involved denizens of the local discourse following along on their phones . . .

Kansas City Secret: Council Dude Quinton Saved Money To Make Money

- Lucas ($265,000) is now the leader in the cash-on-hand race, with more resources to spend as the campaigns head into the home stretch. This is largely due to very low expenses. His largest were on advertising and printing.

Money Man Steve Miller Moving Forward

- Miller's ($230,000) cash on hand is strong, but offset by a massive $53,000 in debt, putting his total resource between Taylor and Justus. Axiom Strategies remains off of his report, but the mysterious "Ingress Strategies" has received substantial expenditures.

Council Lady Jolie Spending Big Bucks To Play Dirty With Out Of Town Help

- Justus' ($215,000) fundraising remains strong, but her burn rate is still incredibly high because of (another) $20,000 spent for opposition research, $34,000 for a NYC PR Firm, and $42,000 for mail from the Dover Group.

Council Dude Scott Taylor Invested Early But Will It Work???

- Taylor ($139,000) has hardly raised since the changes to campaign finance limiting corporate contributions. The trajectory of his campaign continues to worsen but he has just enough cash to remain dangerous.

Fugazi Phil Fades

- Glynn ($89,000) woke back up and had a strong quarter, but has $72,000 in debt to cover, leaving him with fewer total resources than even Wagner and Canady.

Mixed Plate Money Fuels Councilman Reed

- Reed ($88,000) continues to have a decent amount, but doesn't seem to have any direction in the spending. Outside of Ollie Gates, only 1 donation over $500 arrived.

Council Lady Canady: Mayor Candidate Test Run For Mean Jean Successor???

- Canady ($30,722) edging out Wagner, Canady still hasn't gained traction. Her only function will be as a siphon of Lucas votes, and propping herself for a 2020 run for prosecutor.

Where Will Council Dude Scott Go???

-Wagner ($29,312) what's his next step after April 2nd?
#############

And so . . .

This cash contest info is important for a lot of reasons but mostly because it powers the ground game in the last weeks and days before the election.

One topic that most pundits are missing:

There is no winning a Kansas City Mayoral race without a ground game.

Mayor Sly surprised a lot of people, including TKC, 8 years ago with a historic door to door Midtown blitzkrieg that earned him the top job job at City Hall. Before that the former Mr. Peanut powered a small but dedicated army to mobilize Brookside & the corridor for Mayor Funky and his wife's feet.

Now . . .

The die is cast.

And, as always, money is the most important factor in the fight for Kansas City's election for mayor.

Developing . . .

I think the Freedom endorsement might have been the event that get him into the primary. Jolie messed up there, she's too busy playing dirty that she missed her chance to help Jermaine get that nod. People told her to work that angle but she missed a critical chance to undermine Lucas.

Wagner will make a better campaigner for his primary pick. I would expect that he is already getting a lot of phone calls. He's playing the next job game a lot better than Jermaine.

Again and again my friends,

Kansas City has the best government money can buy!

Don't mind if I do.

No vote on the airport until after this election. Sorry Sly.

Where do I get my Clay Chastain's, or any other white taxpayer candidate's yard sign?

Hope voters aren't as dumb as in the past, but not optimistic.

Let's not forget: Stan Glazer only lost to Kay Barnes by 5000 votes. No signs, no ground game. And I seem to recall some police arrests with a hooker in the middle of the campaign.

Clay Chastain is the disruptor. A tiny bit like how Trump won. All the others cancelled one another out.

And he had a breakthru. None of his 10 points in his Ten Point Plan even mentioned light rail. He's all about remodeling KCI and fixing potholes. The others haven't led, and should all be cast aside.

Up yourz trailer trash! I'm voting for the General. He kicked Clay's ass last time and he'll do it again!

Stan Glazer didn't run in a race with 13 other candidates.

So, let's be real. Everybody else is just running for second place. Who will it be opposing Quinton in the primary:

Miller or Jolie?

Who can win?

Taylor is the one to watch. He's got a few tricks up his sleeve.

Miller is the man to beat.

CHASTAIN!

Do you really think anyone is going to vote for a "Slyclone"?

Lots of money spent.
And it won't make a bit of difference who is finally elected mayor in KCMO.
Incompetence, empty promises, upside-down priorities, no interest in basic services that residents really need and want, subsidies for any "developer" with so much as a pulse, and all the rest.
Around 10% voter turnout.
Only the names change.
Those who benefit from this farce never change.

Looks like Sly's trained Lucas how to pose for a picture in that first pic.

Only thing missing is the bow tie and clown suit.

Whites will stay home this vote. They aren't interested in this one.

They're all slezy lawyers, crooked or crazy.

Most people are just going to pass. Sorry.

How Quintons DUI going? Has he wormed his way out of it yet?

Anonymous said...

Only a stupid fucker would say such a stupid gay thing. The white people up north are pissed and will vote.

Anonymous said...

Tax the money these sleazeballs grovel for at 70%. That will help "take the money out of politics".

Anonymous said...

^^^1:01 - supposedly he has turned down a standard plea deal to fight what he thinks (publicly anyway) is the injustice of it all. More likely that is just to show what a fighter he is. He will try to continue the DUI case until after the election and then will quietly do the plea.

Maybe Fugazi Phil can teach everyone how to make a salmon remoulade again like he did on that Gangster cooking show for votes...what a pud...like anyone believes a ward parkway privileged white dude in a Prospect Ave sweatshirt...fucking hilarious...

Chastain’s Top 10 points make more sense than anything anyone’s done in the last 68 years.

Here the Top 5 Things Clay can add to assure victory:

5. Freeze water bills for KC residents for 10 years.
4. Get rid of the 1% City Earnings tax. To make it up- get a pair of Sly’s Underwear or a Copy of his administration successes and market it for a cure for stuffy noses. Should fill coffers.
3. Go back 10 years and charge $1 in a new tax for the KC Star for every liberal editorial they wrote. If they don’t declare bankruptcy- use the several million to give to developers of 4-Light for free housing for the poor. Put that new building in Downtown.
2. Reroute the Toy Train to the river. After it’s done- but the keyboards of the editorial board - load them in the train- and automously Drive it in the Missouri River. They won’t be able to write hurtful articles anymore and the train ends up where it belongs.
1. Finish Construction on Wornall. Might be asking too much, but at least fill a few potholes.

Anonymous said...

That is quite a lot of cheddar! Let’s hope he doesn’t act all n_ _ _ _ _ rich and waste it on Escalades, guns, gold chains, a gold grill and male prostitutes.

Thanks for the laugh! That was a good one wasn't it? Totally out-of-touch with his target Gangsta audience.

Clay will lead the way. He isn't taking any contributions so he won't owe anybody. >>
