SHAME!!! MOST KANSAS CITY POTHOLES WON'T BE FILLED UNTIL JUNE!!!

A glimpse at local infrastructure ignored as 12th & Oak doesn't have enough crash & manpower to do the job:

"We're losing the pothole war really, really, really bad," Ralph Davis, deputy director of Public Works, said.

Kansas City officials craft new plan to manage potholes

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- City officials confirmed what many drivers are already painfully aware of, it has been an unprecedented season for potholes. Thursday a city council committee was briefed on the pothole epidemic. Just last week, crews filled more than 2,100 potholes and 45 of them on one bridge alone.

  3. They said the city is short employees to handle all of this. Use to be if the city had openings people were beating down the door to get in and work for the city. Now no one wants to work here because of the crime, it's just not worth it to lose your life over a cigarette. I think it would be safe to say the streets won't be fixed until next fall or winter with the way things are going now.

  7. I wouldn’t hold my breath for June. So much money is going to be directed to the airport that city services will be worse than ever and that’s a scary thought.

  8. What's so hard about filling pot holes? Kansas has been doing it between snows.

  11. Now there's talk about firing the trash haulers and using city employees instead. Think about that. Maybe after potholes are filled, they can pick up the trash.

Contractors say they cannot pay their workers enough based on current contracts. The city says, for what they want in increases, it's cheaper for the city to pick up.

Those are the hardest working guys around. Pay the contractors more so they can pay these guys more! Compare what they do versus city slimeballs doing nothing at five times what the trash haulers make.

    1. In a perfect world the city would buy a pink El Camino and have Gopher KC pick up the trash.

  13. There are many formulas for good pot hole mix available on an internet search. Even polymer solutions that don't require removing moisture. Why doesn't the city consider things that are readily available. Many local firms posses the ability to help. Try it, city, you'll like it. Doopth!
