A glimpse at every local institution confronting ice FAIL today. Take a look:

Plane slides off runway at Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- The Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport is closed after a plane slid off the runway due to slick, freezing precipitation in the area. There is no estimate of a reopen time. Airport officials said an Embraer Phenom 100 light jet was landing to the south about 4:30 a.m.

The first rule in landing as a pilot is to make sure the landing gear is down.

That's scary I had it happen to me on my first flight when we landed at KCI. I think we were expected to crash because the runway was lined with emergency vehicles. The good news is, I was farting just fine, no pucker here.
