ONLY PREZ TRUMP HOLDING BACK KCMO TOY TRAIN STREETCAR EXPANSION!!!

Recently, the North end of the streetcar suffered a federal funding slap in the face because toy trains are no longer a priority for D.C. under the current administration.

However, that hasn't stopped the big plans of streetcar designers going down Main. Here's a scheme that would disrupt tens of thousands of travelers for a mode of transit that typically runs late for hipsters on weekends:

KC Biz Journal: KC streetcar extension will replace Main Street MAX route, run in outside lane

Streetcar officials contend the shut down affected their federal grant applications.

More deets on a rigged vote and high hopes:

In 2017, voters approved the creation of a transportation development district to help fund the Main Street extension by providing revenue through sales taxes and special assessments on real estate within the district.

The project team said revenue sources would not begin to be collected until the project is successfully rated by the FTA.

The project is expected to be completed by 2023.

For once, the taxpayers of KCMO owe Trump a big thank you.

Whats the cost of this obsolete piece of bullshit going to be now?

$316 million

Nearing $100 million higher then what they claimed when the mail in farce of an election was promoted.

Oh its going to cost more then what they promised those "voters" in the rigged mail in con job, and then they now want to tax us another $300 million for the bike lanes thing?

We must be a city of buffoons.

Truth!

Wouldn't shock me at all if that $318 Million "bike lanes and other infrastructure improvement" proposal that's popped up recently is nothing more then a plan b in case the feds reject the streetcar extension funding.

Probably the only good thing trump has done in two years.

It means the federal Govt finally woke up and is not going to give money for stupid things.

BTW why should the current administration give an idiot man wearing a bow tie any federal money after the nasty things he has said and done? Sly is just pissed because he can't steal, at least not from the feds. He will have to continue to steal from residents only.

The city screwed the taxpayers from the beginning. From the city auditor’s website.....

http://city.kcmo.org/kc/Uploads/Auditor/Streetcar.pdf

Currently, the FTA considers KCSA to be a no-bid third party contractor because it was appointed to its roles within the agreement without a competitive and open process. FTA’s current view of KCSA does mean the city is currently ineligible for federal operational grants related to KC Streetcar’s starter line. Additionally, KCSA’s role as agent to the city in the procurement of advertising and sponsorships contracts and the expenditure of revenues received from those contracts could be viewed by the FTA to be in conflict with the grant agreements because of their view of KCSA as no-bid third party contractor. The city should take necessary steps to mitigate the compliance risks related to FTA grant agreements.
